How do Fatalis weapons hold up?
How good are Fatalis weapons compared to the older meta of Safi/Raging Brachy? I haven't looked into it too much, but I just crafted the True Fatalis End (Switch Axe) and want opinions on whether it's worth building around. That -30% affinity seems like a pretty hefty blow, but the raw damage seems to be the highest around.

Any thoughts?

Iirc, the GS at least is the new meta. You might also want to check the Monster Hunter Meta subreddit; they probably have something interesting to say about them.

Everything except the Light Bowgun is stronger than the previous meta.

Doesn't even come close to some of the clear times I got with the previous meta I.E capture net and boomerang, but they're a step in the right direction!

True, Capture Net with Heroics is still the strongest weapon.

Thanks, I'll take a look over there.

I'm embarrassed to say I've never actually made a capture net build. What decos are best?

Meowster Jewels, by far and away. Poisoncoat Jewel too, can't even begin to imagine how you'd do a capture net run without that in your set either. Hmm.

Hungerless Jewels are the meta because if you don't bring them you'll starve to death long before the monster dies as well, very important.

i heard defense boost decos are by far the most useful for this kind of build. don't know about the rest though.

Just as a note, some of the Fatalis weapons can benefit from Maximum Might 5 using the new Fatalis armor bonus, such as SnS and maybe even LS, though it is optional and you would reach 95% with Agitator 7, Critical Eye 7, Weakness Exploit 3 and Affinity Augment.

The only weapons that don't even need to consider it are CB and Hammer because they only have -20% compared to the -30% of the other Fatty weapons.

Also some weapons like the Fatalis Glaive are pretty much beating the Elemental Glaives in most if not all matchups, same goes for SnS.

I like to think the -20% instead of -30% Affinity on Hammers is Capcom's apology for not giving us a decent non-elemental weapon since base Iceborne. Sadness.

Even though with all this base raw you could argue they already kinda have it baked in and then an element / status thrown on top, but it's not the same! :steamsad:

Does an extra 10% Affinity make up for that? Bweh! :hammering:
