Is it even possible to get the event's layered armor without being at the end game?
I have never seen the items required to make the Demonlord Alpha set, which I assume are end game loot, so I can't craft it to get better VIP tickets droprate. Been farming the Frostbite event for the past hour and only got 1 so far. I feel like I've been wasting my time farming it without the set.

You need Blackveil Vaal Hazak marerial to craft it.

At least Frostbite gives you couple nice level 4 decos. If you're not rushing through the game and want to advance on your own pace, just farm 5 VIP tickets and you'll be able to craft the layered armor afterwards.

What do you mean? How would I be able to craft the whole armor with only 5 VIP tickets? And after the event ends?

You can craft anything at any time so long as you have the materials. Layered sets are acquired as sets, not individual pieces, so you only need 5 VIP tickets for the entire layered set.

Oh. Really? I legit thought it was 5 tickets per set piece.
Thanks.

If this was an F2P game, it would probably be like that. Thank god its not.

MHW is one of the few games that is insanely generous with their events. I haven't actually hunted at all, just logged in daily and I have all of the event tickets (both fall and Halloween) to get everything. Nothing like ESO lol
Do you know you need also VIP version of tickets? And mostly VIPs. And they are only for hunting durring event? Best way for me is helping players on normal. Tried fast level 1 master events but i had ticket once by 5 plays.

to answer tcs question : the only event excluvise items you need to be able to craft the current festival armor and its layered version are the fun fright tickets and the vip version of these. aslong as you aquire enough of both you can craft the entire thing at any point even when the festival ends as only these tickets are time restricted to this festival. the rest is not.

the fun fright tickets are from daily login rewards and daily bountys ONLY. you cannot get them anywhere else. the vip versions are random rewards with or WITHOUT the armor set for any eventquest. the droprate is just a bit better with the full armor. but they can drop without it aswell.

plus the login tickets should be granted every day one ticket if youre atleast in master rank quests.

It is possible: best event quest for farming tickets is "A Fish To Whet Your Appetite".
1. spawn in central camp, get large fish near lakeshore with capture net
2. fast travel to southwest camp, move north to the lake. The fish you want spawn near seeweed patch some distance from where you come to the lake, move a bit closer and use capture net again.
Once you learn where exactly to aim, this quest only takes between 40 to 50 seconds to do.
Also: if you miss and big fish runs away, it is faster to abandon and start quest again then to wait respawn.

I feel Flora Frostbite is faster, and simpler:
Start at Northeast Camp (15). Run out of the camp and turn left, you'll soon run into 3 Icebloom plants, these are usually enough to complete the quest. If you get really unlucky, head south and you'll find more.

With "Master Gatherer", 4 points in "Botanist", and the Assassin Mantle, you can pretty reliably do the quest in 30-40 seconds.

Luck is the limiting factor here: I got "better" items to often when i tried to do this. Fishing on the other hand is reliable as long as you dont miss.

is the penguin quest not a possibility? I remember farming that last event
I mean, you'll get the same chance at tickets, but I found that quest kinda sluggish compared to the quests already mentioned, though I might be missing a trick.

Though, speaking of that quest, if you weren't aware, you can get a layered version of that hat now using tickets from "A Brand New Brute" (among other things).
