Lavasioth is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ disgrace
I hate this stupid wet ♥♥♥♥ of a monster so much, it very clearly deserves its "least hunted" status.

Seriously, what were they thinking? The lava armor thing is a cool gimmick, until you realize that breaking the lava off causes you to become MORE likely to glance a weapon strike and do LESS damage. Its gear is just a recoloring of Jyuratodus', which could be said about almost every aspect of this stupid dirt fish.

At least Jyuratodus is unique because the marsh waters and mud patches make your movement complicated. Lavasioth replaces that tiny amount of depth with the fact that it tries to spend about half of its time either swimming around under the ground or just standing outside of the level, which is something that it's allowed to do, for some reason. Need I remind you that this monster is revealed later in the game than Diablos, whose burrowing attack is an actual threat, and has the decency to try to kill you with it. The main danger with Lavasioth going underground is you getting bored to death while it ineffectually flops its head around.

I bet it doesn't even taste good, either.

Funf fact, Brute Tigrex was and probably still is the least hunted monster.

Honestly my strat is go in with Mind’s eye, to prevent my weapon from bouncing. Also, if your weapon it's not dependent of element you can also bring a fire weapon, it heats up its skin so it reduces its defense. It makes the completely annoying boss fight into a somewhat tolerable encounter.

I actually hate regular tigrex more, brute’s roar is easier to dodge than the tigrex rampage. Besides if you brake brute’s head it supposedly weakens its roars (can't confirm but ever since I knew about that I always target the head first and I barely have any trouble).

use fire element to soften the armor

Pretty much every single piscine wyvern in this game is a total joke. Jyura might as well just sit there flopping on its back the whole time, Lavashit is an abomination of a gimmick with way too much health, Beo is almost cool but is too easy.

The armor doesn't break; it cools and hardens. Use torch pods or other fire element attacks to reheat and soften its armor, or just go with something like Charge Blade or Gunlance and hit it with attacks that ignore armor entirely.

Lavasioth's probably only hunted more because he was the target of what was for a very long time one of the best deco farming quests.

As for tigger, yes, headbreaks reduce the range of his stationary roar (probably the damage, too, though I didn't notice or specifically test that).

I mean, at least it is not Plesioth...

This is the one time where bringing a Fire weapon to a Fire monster is a good idea.

Weapon will never bounce off his skin and you'll deal full damage.

If the elemental damage actually did something of value it might have changed that but since it doesn't go nuts with fire weapon on him.

Also he isn't that bad.

same here.. Brute Tigrex seemed to me like a fight in which I can actually partake in.

and as for how Brute Tigrex might be a less fought monster, that could have to do with events, or his infrequent availability, including assignments?
Lavasioth onlyfans when

Availability is my guess, cant fight him until MR70 (events not included) and some players dont go that far and quit after shara when the game actually begins

You know you can fire a torch pod into a part to soften it? The sad thing is it only softens for you and not your team.

Why can't i make jokes without yall trying to prove you know stuff and sucking all the fun out of it :(

Yes. Torch pods will do fire damage and melt the magma coating. I've fought it with gunlance shells. I've fought it with fire weapons. I've fought it using slinger bursts. I've fought it with mind's eye. I've fought it with bombs. No method of softening the lava shell changes the fact that once it does break, that part's defensive values become HIGHER than the melted lava shell, and can no longer be melted. It's not a hard fight by any stretch of the imagination. It's just horrendously dull.

And yes, I do know about screamer pods, too. >_<
