A simple question about weak spots
Hi. Sry if this come in the wrong chat forum. But it’s a simple question that I can’t find any information about when I google.

What is the difference between weak spot (yellow value hit box) and a week spot inside and X like the one you get after two clutch claw attacks on a monster part? ( with light weapon). Do the one inside X value make more damage? Or are it’s the same?

Thanks in advance

Softening a monster's part accomplishes two things. 1 is that it increases the hitzone of whatever part you're hitting by 15 for all raw types, which basically means you will end up doing more damage. 2 is that it makes weakness exploit give the full 50% at level 3 (assuming you're hitting a weakzone to begin with).

The X simply means you hit a part softened with clutchclaw.

Yellow means the hitzone value of the part you hit is above certain threshold.

you missed the lovely effect that your weapons stop bouncing from certain extra hardened bodyparts if you tenderize them like nergis black spikes, kirins body in supercharge rage mode or rajangs arms in super rage.

you can find more infos about all the values on kiranico

Iirc, aren't they also more easy to break as well?

It does not directly increase part damage, though it does indirectly from the increasing the damage dealt to the region.

However, wall-banging does deal the wall bang's damage as part damage to tenderised regions, though, from testing it doesn't seem to contribute towards tail severing.

Without tenderising it only contributes towards breaking the head on grounded creatures (flinch-shot into a wall), or breaking the body of flying creatures (flinch-shot out of the air). The effect is usually most noticeable on wings.

EDIT: it is also worth noting that tenderising the head/body of a grounded/flying creature before flinch-shotting it does not increase the part damage dealt to that region.
