Got Gud and loved the fight, its kinda annoying the almost one shot fire attacks even if you stack defense or fire resistant so I hunt fatalis again in MHFU and I also got almost one shot on most of his attacks.
Therefore in terms of damage its not like its too much, he always punched hard XD
I guess it's not all bad seeing as she doesn't have armor mode or Constant Rage. But putting so much time and effort and different builds for a Hyper ♥♥♥♥♥ up monster fight was not my funnest time playing this game.
Good thing is, She's optional. There For, I can say that dumb special mission is off my list and I won't bother with her again.
Personally, I'd rather have another Siege event and the monster being Lao Shun Lung. Miss that Ultimate Heavy Bowgun, and yes, I do find Lao Fun. Dunno why.
5 cannon shot with a lvl2 Heavy Artillery is 450 damage per shot. 2,250 if all 5 hits x2 if you fully loaded the 2nd cannon and if all of those hit you'll deal 4,500 damage total. Wall Bang is another 3.8-4k damage. All of this can be done at the start fight. That is a lot of Damage you can deal and you'll be foolish if you ignore it. This is not optional for many groups.
Most of the groups that I've joined that ignored the cannons and early wall bang have failed the quest.
A few cheap moves due to hitboxes.
Heavy ai rng.
Technically not fun.
I had high hopes for Fatalis after the magnificent fight that was Alatreon and it did not met my expectations, yes the fight is hard but that's only part of what makes a great fight.
Its still a good fight but Alatreon is just better.
EDIT: boolshite body slam hitbox
With fatalis, if you hit phase three without a headbreak, it just pumps up the adrenaline, and while your odds are unlikely, you have a chance :D
I personally prefer fatalis, while more difficult, he didn't have surprise mechanics like Alatreon, and even though his hitboxes aren't as tight as Alatreon, they aren't particularly bad either (his charge hitbox is super high, but so is anjanath and many others, sad insect glaive noises)
But it's also kind of boring with the "hide behind there" old mechanics and the need to keep hitting the head most of the time so it doesn't one-shot you later, it makes me use the CC to the head 80% of the time instead of fighting the way I want, it'd be a better fight without the horn mechanic.
I freakin love it.
In the end, Alatreon was easy and much more forgiving, that made him more fun to fight when I'm in the mood for some casual challenge. Fatalis is for when just wanna go ham on a god and feel like a badass (or a failure, depends on how the hunt goes lol).
The scripted elements also show a progression in the fight as more tools for you to use are made available without having to switch zones. The use of the roaming balista is always fun and a welcome return and once you hit Fatalis with the dragonator and hear the OG "Proof of A Hero" it gets you pumped up at the right moment as Fatalis holds nothing back, fighting you tooth and nail in a final climactic clash.

The fact the cinamatics leading up to the Fatalis fight have you essentially reliving the intro to MHW, along with this song, is like it's welcoming you back to the Old World after a long adventure in the New World. You're the enigma hunter with a history behind them bringing back your new experiences and prepared to face the god of monsters.
