Help with Fatalis
(NOTE: I play MHW on PS4, but I decided to post the forum here :P) So Fatalis finally came, and the gear is powerful. However you need 2 evil eyes for 1 armor set, and you literally have to completely break Fatalis' head. That is really difficult though. Some people recommend using switch axe on it, but I don't have a switch axe. Plus I'm more of a long sword person. Is there a way to farm evil eyes with long sword?

Heavy artillery + partbreaker would make it easier.
Edit: but it doesnt matter if you are not aiming for the head

Use part breaker and sneak hits on the head whenever possible. Every hit counts.

OK I'll try these methods. (I have been using level 2 partbreaker, but no success so far :/) I didn't use heavy artillery yet.

Remember this:
Roaming Ballista DEALS MORE DAMAGE THAN THE DRAGONATOR!!!

Heavy Artillery +2 will DOUBLE the cannon and Roaming Ballista damage.

The starting script solo should always be:

Buff, equip Ghillie Mantle, fly down, pick up a rock, load two cannons, turn one cannon towards Fatalis, turn the other one to the direction of the first one click away from all the way.

Fire the first cannon (4500 damage), Fatalis will charge at you. Equip Temporal Mantle. Fire the second cannon (4500). Fatalis will go down. Go wild on the face. Once it gets up, you already have rocks and Temporal. Wall bang it immediately. (1300)

Always note when it's on all four. You'll note this when he's doing the bite or slide charge or wriggling charge. When he does that, check if he's enrage. If he's not, ALWAYS wall bang it for more head damage.

Once the second phase starts, grab the One-Shot Binder at the back of the cave and save it for later. There's another one on the opposite ramp, west side, behind the ballista.

The Roaming Balliasta comes up twice. If you can tenderize before delivering a salvo, it's devastating. Head shot deals 54. Chest shot deals 79. 66 on average. 100 shots. Two salvos. 6600x2. More if tenderized. Aim the head if you can. If you're on multiplayer, ask one player to shoot the Binder at it while it's facing the Roaming Ballista for a full salvo on the head. The damage is savage.

Dragonator itself deals 3300 each spike. Double one spike if it's wake up hit. So it's 9900 max in total. Roaming Ballista is the king, and you can shoot its face specifically.

Hey guys here's an update right now. I decided to use great sword against Fatalis, and I have been able to partially break it's head. However in this video, there's a second bar next to the sharpness bar. I know that having this bar makes you deal more damage, so how do you get this bar?
Hiding in closet Oct 11, 2020 @ 9:23am
That is Frostcraft bar. Velkhana armor 4 pieces skill.

i don't have a switchaxe, guess what simply craft one, isn't that hard is it?

So it's a skill from Velkhana. Thanks for telling me.

i wonder why he uses the gs, while he can only do real dmg on 2 artillery knockout, 2 binders and the dragonator one
yeah you get some sexy big numbers with successful tcs but are there enough openings to outperform swags? so you need to make the cannon and moblie ballista hits really count

has anyone compared this tactic to nonstop discharge spam to the head with swags?

longsword definitely needs more training to land your helmsplitters on the head because the ♥♥♥♥♥ wiggles so much.

simply watch some speedrunners to get a feeling for openings

good old swag cheese until you have your fatalis gear

Atm Swax is made for this fatty. Its just too good to be true. If you equipped partbreaker, you should able to break fatty horn before phase 2. But part of hunters wanted to take the other way included me.

I honestly don't think it matters all that much which wep u use for part breaking. One shot binder + Roaming ballista strat does most of the part breaking dmg for u as long as u consistently aim for the head since he wiggles so much even when restrained. A bonus if u tenderized beforehand.

Some time if option present. You should use it. In this case it is swith axe. Load all dps with medicine, part breaker, power prolonger and tool secret in your build and just ZSD untill head break. It is that easy. After 2 head break you can just leave the quest to get 1 eye or if you can kill it, more chance to get eyes from carve.

LS can do it too but you need to perfect Helm splitter to the head and need rng for fatty to use more cone fire so you can easy hit the head.

If you are soloing or duo'ing, have plunder kitty too. It is very rare, but plunder kitty has a chance to grab an eye, I was very lucky and got 1. Other than that plunder kitty will help with the common drops that you'll need.
