The MH movie event is just bad.
This is prob the first bad event quest so far.
This is like a knock off version of Witcher's event.

Bad movie= Bad event.

Pretty much what I expected.

I find that all the crossover quests were ok, they were either really boring or annoying.

The final fantasy quest (with the kulu) was annoying because his hitboxes felt huge.

The witcher quest was boring because it took really long to kill Leshen.

The movie quest was uninspired, but at least I didn't get bored or annoyed, because it didn't take long to complete, and the monsters were really easy.

They all have one thing in common that irritated me, though.

The characters just wouldn't shut up, every 30 seconds you'd hear geralt or artemis yelling into your ear when fighting the monsters, like jesus christ, can you let me focus for a second? The final fantasy quest was a little bit better in that regard, the characters would only talk when kulu got bigger.

I don't agree with you with FF and Witcher.
Witcher's quest is actually good since if you did something you get a better outcome and overall the entire quest went smoothly from beginning 'till the end and pretty challenging and FF is challenging and fun with your main group.
But this event is really bad and there are no story basically like Witcher and the fight itself is really easy than any other event but I can agree with you that it's indeed extremely annoying for her to keep talking over and over again.

the ff and witcher crossovers were ok. witcher had a bit of a twist to it, with new monster, and death by birds, not to mention the pukei saving. the kulu quest was just a fun thing in general (or, more specifically, fun to introduce my friends to it) although i wouldn't mind if behemoth was deleted

this movie collab is just flat out boring. and you don't get any rewards out of it either
"ah yes come to fight this black diablos and giant annoying rathalos!! we will give you this epic amazing fancy beautiful armour set as a reward!!!!!!" and then that's just the entire collab event right there

it makes sense and all but, still. idk why i even bothered opening the game for this

Very disappoint with the quest .
No rathalos crown , also both of them are easy af with tiny HP pool , it is not even a fight .

I think it's kind of expected.

Capcom's plan was originally just to end at Fatalis update but with the movie coming out, plus they need to release auto pilot on the events, they likely decided to just make a simple advertisement for the movie.

I doubt they spent much money or time on the event other than getting Mila to voice some lines and do a scan of her face.

I think CAPCOM tries to do justice to the collab source material. With FFXIV, they tried to implement MMO mechanic, with The Witcher, they tried to implement side quests and different ending cutscene. How successful the implementation is probably different to each people.

Now, with the movie, they tried to implement movie experience. To elaborate;
Halfway to Black Diablos fight, I realized I played really bad, but still haven't cart yet
"What's with the meager damage?"
And then it hit me; oh yeah, "Plot Armor"
Instead of limping and retreating to its nest, we got cutscene where Black Diablos abruptly died, as if like a Plot demanded it to die. Same thing with Rathalos
In reality, all these things do for me is to make me feel that the hunt is somewhat incomplete. But then again, maybe that's actually the point.

The only good thing I can get in this collab is that I can play original desert theme (Monoblos) and original forest & hill theme (Rathalos) in my room. But this is largely nostalgia factor, and probably wouldn't affect a lot of players.

Have to keep in mind that this event is aimed at newer players. It is a MR1 quest with the monsters in a nerfed state. The armor is a good replacement for the Defender set for those just starting out in Iceborne.

Armor set gives Hp regen and extra rewards and the skills are decent enough so that you have a very solid defense.
