The only way to guarantee all 3 food buffs is by paying with a meal voucher.
I knew that use to be a thing with the chefs hat, but everything I've seen or saw before iceborne was that all fresh, full activation ingredients should be a 100% chance, as in guaranteed, in MH:W. Perhaps I was mistaken, but there /were/ a lot of sources saying it and it worked for me when i did it. Did they change it for Iceborne? You're sure it's just a higher chance for having /all/ fresh /full/ activation meals?
Also, as mentioned, this happens to me even when /I do/ use a voucher - which /is/ suppose to be a guaranteed
To my understanding prior. The meal voucher garunteed activation even if you weren't lucky enough to get fresh food in the skills you wanted. Like getting a full 6x skill. Getting all fresh ingrediants for full fresh meals and full activation chance would still give you the food skills garunteed, it was just that if you didn't use a voucher or the like you couldn't control what you got, it was all based on the fresh food.
And this still is why it confuses me as.. this sytem /did/ work up until iceborne. and since iceborne i've had a fairly regular event of going out of my way for fresh food, or even using a voucher, and /not/ getting all 3 skills. I've outright stopped using vouchers because of it, it feels like a waste. The last straw to make my post askign was I had to fight a tempered MR and used a gourmet voucher for the health /and/ skills and it /still/ only gave me 2 skills for it.
Let's say with made up numbers that each fresh ingredient gives you a 10% of getting a single food buff and you make 3 rolls for all 3 food skills. You can only pick 6 ingredients which means it caps a 60% for each buff. The meal voucher makes it that no matter what ingredient you chose its 100% for each skill. And the gourmet meal voucher makes it that also all the ingredients are fresh so you can get all the health and stamina buffs.
Maybe you are not paying with a meal voucher and instead you are paying with research points. Or maybe you have a mod that is messing with something.
I /absolute/ used a meal voucher. and there is no way to mistake a /gourmet/ voucher for research points, and it still did this to me.
I don't know what the made up numbers were, All I know is that before Iceborne - that is what literally /every/ source said, and every time I /did/ get 3 star it always worked back then. May not /like/ the skills I got, but it gave me all 3 if All was fresh. If it /never/ worked this way, my question would then be more wondering on - why/how did that lie go on for /so/ long up to iceborne?
Apologies, it's habit. the '//' on either side of a word is meant as emphasis. A point of increased attention or strain to that word or part of a sentence for importance of it. Such as noting even that - I can use a gourmet voucher, not just a voucher but a gourmet voucher that did show as much by all the fresh ingrediants, and this still happened to me. It's why i ended up needign to ask because that was the point it felt like a bug to me
Sorry for confusion on the '//' though
But still vouchers should give all the buffs, they do when I use them and they never fail. Honestly it feels like you may have a mod doing something that it shouldn't have.
I don't have or use mods in this game. Not even the cosmetic one most everyone i know of has. That's why it baffles me so much. Nothing else changed, it just.. suddenly didn't work right for me
I'm pretty sure it's regular voucher gives increased chance and gourmet voucher gives 100% chance.
