Getting tired while playing
So, I've been playing World a lot recently, and I've noticed I get really tired whenever I play the game. Not like, exhaustion tired, like I'm overexerting myself or anything, but like, "I need to take a nap" tired. It's not like I'm not engaged or anything, I love the game to death, and have a stupid amount of playtime on Gen Ultimate, but I can't reach that with this game, because for some reason, World makes me sleepy. And it's not like it's just games in general, I play tons of other games pretty frequently on both PC and Switch, but nothing else gives me the same feeling. Anyone else able to relate? Couldn't find anything else online about this so I doubt it, but I figured I'd ask.

If you're not familiar with it, that's your typical symptoms of seasonal depression. I imagine the regular changes brought by those along with the difficulties from covid. If you were the type of person who used to go out and about weekly to do things, thats probably the explanation. I know I was doing awesome until all of this hit. My feeling of anything and everything went into the dumps, AT Velkhana was one of the few things that made me forget about all the stress tbh. :steamhappy: Hope you find a method that can help, I know exercising if you can always makes the body and brain more awake due to blood flow increases so try some pushups or toe touches inbetween hunts. Even if it sounds silly it really does help!

Edit: also those other games are probably a lot more stressful than world. Because after Fatalis everyone hunts comfy and fashionable :) I know i get sleepy when I'm too comfy

I can relate to that... Sometimes, when I am playing other games, I fall asleep and wake up scared with my character either dead or running towards a wall. When I am watching a movie, my eyelids start to get heavy and I feel that huge need to sleep but I don't want to, then I tell myself "I will not read the subtitles, I will just hear and..." I wake up to find that or the episode is gone or I have slept though a portion of it.

But then again, I wake up very early everyday to work then I go sleep real late, when I have to sleep I can't sleep, tho.

EDIT: You are depressed, seek help if you think this is important.

That's it, tell the guy he is depressed when all it could be is just him being tired.

Monster Hunter World is a pretty intense game at times. You have to focus on the monster, your HP/stamina, your combo's and everything that's surrounding you. It can be pretty draining to some people and if you feel yourself getting tired then there's no shame in taking a break.
Games like this tend to be pretty exhausting at times. Dark souls can be pretty intensive to play as well!
Age is also a factor of course and you can get tired a lot faster if youre a bit older.

If youre constantly getting tired even when you were well rested before, then you might want to consult a physician. It's a bit hard to give someone solid advice on this matter as this is a very unusual topic for a public game forum.

I hope you'll feel better soon! Happy hunting my friend! :mhwgood:

Wow, that took an unexpected turn. Um, I highly doubt it's depression, as it's only with this game specifically. Any other game I'm fine. And I have been depressed before, it's a very different feeling. Sure, depression can cause drowsiness, but that would be overall, not just when I'm playing a game. I could be very very wrong, maybe there's some form of depression that only manifests in specific scenarios, but I've not heard of anything like that, especially not for a single video game.

Also, in terms of age, that's not really an issue, unless college age is too old for monster hunter lol. Thank you for all the responses though!

Might be just a general burnout. Take it easy, maybe vary up your game pattern (i.e. try different games every week) and don't overcommit.

It's probably because you're forcing yourself to like a game that deep down you don't really like/enjoy. Try to do a list of the pros and cons of the game but be honest with yourself, that's a quick way to find out when you like things or not.

Sounds like you aren't engaged in the game.
could always be something like the colour palette or the music or something causing it too
