Tempered Furious Rajang Tips?
It takes me 3-4 carts and ~30 min to take down the darn thing. Any tips? Im playing solo with a lance and honestly, most of my damage comes from yeeting it into a wall when it "becomes un agitated". Fortify def helps as well as guard 5. Putting myself in a corner when it hardens its arms and dropping the health booster while guarding with the occasional poke here and there is the only way I can survive that bit of hell.

Keep your lance sheathed so that you can avoid his lightning attacks. By doing so, you can avoid his attacks from chipping away at your health and stamina and let you get off more attacks instead of getting staggered. Learn which of his attacks have a long recovery, the hook, lightning breath, lightning attacks and lightning slam which can be avoided by running backwards. After attacking most of the time it's safer to Guard Dash out or Guard Shot instead of countering. Make sure to bring Mind's Eye and a Thunderproof Mantle. I personally also spec a few points in Quick Sheathe for when I need to pop a max potion. The matchup is a lot harder for lance since a lot of his attacks stagger you even with Guard V and other weapons can roll with weapon unsheathed which actually avoids a lot of his homing attacks.

It really comes down to the weapon, lance usually works for poking behind a shield, so not much you can do. Either change a weapon or live with it is what I say.

i found using frost craft brachy GS solo works great around 15-20 mins, just wait for opening while staying in mid range so he will use his laser/ground shatter and then just charge his head. rinse and repeat. also save mounting just for his hardened arm thingy

unfortunately lance have bad match up hunting tampered Furious Rajang the normal one can kick his monkey butt easy, unless you really can predict this gold monkey as$ next move, moves that deal huge amount of chip damage on your shield is nightmare to deal with, even worse if you don;t use any Healthboost 3
I can solo him with Lance around 15-20 min, slow because I have to superman jump his stupid moves that deal too much chip damage on lance Block ( WHERE IS GUARD 7 CAPCOM!!!!)
ppl just used stikcy lbg on this monkey or wide gunlance it down, the fix damage on gunlance is good for monster such as Rajang, monster that have hard to hit weak spot

Good luck mate, Lance main regards :Killmaster: :mhwgood:

For lance i would recommend going evade lancing if you're having trouble since guarding is scary

Evade window 5 would give you a lot of windows to attack since you can sidestep most of his stuff and just snipe his head after

Tremor resistance also helps if you have trouble avoiding his slams

dont get hit, dont get grabbed, dont bring sticky bowgun if you think you'll need to resupply.

bring cat with target dummy if doing this solo or duo.

What monster do you consider "hard", but not "cheap" as to not admit defeat and resort to such a crap build? Is a certain level of fairness involved or is any monster that's fast and hits hard considered "cheap"?

The point of him is more foe the challenge. The decoration rewards aren't game-breaking or meta-defining, just a bonus.

LostArc is right with the "keep your lance sheathed" I knocked off 10 min from my runs bu just running more and waiting for openings when its enraged. I also learned that you can trap the thing. hehheheheheh. Just wait for the 3rd ammo to fall from it naturally and its ready to be captured. Oh, and I got some real good decos too like Crit Boos/Vitality and Weakness Exploit/Divine Protection.
