Is Fatalis the strongest Monster canon in the MH series?

No, there was a legend called "Great Jaggi". It is still considered the strongest monster that has ever existed.

Yes the Fatalis family tree is lorewise the strongest and most powerful.

But until now in the main series, he was a joke, as he was holding back and moved like a brick.
Thank god he gets a rework like Alatreon.

Hunters are the real monsters.

Canonically though, all the black dragons of calamity are "the strongest". Alatreon is one of them. Fatalis is another. You'll probably never meet Dire Miralis nor Gogmazios...

^^^ This. There are Elder Dragons. There are the legendary Black Dragons. But they all pale in comparison to the mighty Konchu!

Hopefully modern hunters will never have to experience that level of horror again... let alone how aggressive all the little sh!ts were in Gen Ult.

Gogma doesnt count as a Black Dragon sadly despite he is black, covered in tar and dangerous lore wise.
Currently only the 3 Fatalis, Alatreon, Dire Miralis, Disufiroa and the 2 Merphistophelin count as Black Dragon / First Class Monster

Gog isn't a Black Dragon, no. Remember, it's a classification and not a description of the appearance of the monster.

no, he's outclassed by quite a few monsters.

my personal black dragon power list: (this is purely an interpretation)
1: Frontier's G white fatalis.
2: disufiora (know as the strongest monster, but that was before G white fati.)
3: Frontier's G crimson fatalis.
4: basic white fatalis
5: frontier's G black flame fatalis
6: 4U's G crimson fatalis
7: elemental meristophelin
8: basic crimson fatalis
9: basic fatalis
10: dire miralis
11: alatreon
12: base meristophelin.

i THINK i didn't forget any.

other monsters worth noting:
-shantien: know as "disuphiora's mortal ennemy". even tough he lost against disu, he still survived and is sometimes considered a world ending threat. even if he isn't a black dragon, he is definitely on the same level of power than at least alatreon.
-dalamadur: already one of the strongest non black dragon monsters, and that was a baby/juvenile: the one in the rotten vale is much bigger than the 4U one. if it was still alive, i have no doubt he could hold himself against an elder dragon.
-alatreon subspecie: in the lore, there is an altreon subspecie described as a "shining blue dragon". it has blue flames that makes his scales sparkle. and that's everything we know about him so i couldn't include him.
-safi'jiva: near black dragon power.

-bulfangos, rhenoplos, great jaggi, konchus: not black dragons so not in the list, but they are MUCH stronger than any black dragon.

Gog isnt a black dragon, and isnt even a hard fight. Ill never understand why people praise him so much.

Merphi Im sure isnt canon. Disu is only that strong when its 9999 Solstice Disu.
