How are you guys farming herbs etc.
Hey,

my friends all have like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of stuff, like 500 ancient potions etc, while I can hardly maintain mega potions and ammo for my weapons even though I plant them all in my garden.
Yes I've unlocked all 3 garden slots already.

Are you guys actually going on expeditions and farming herbs/bugs etc. out there?

in the iceborne dlc, there's a steamworks "minigame" of sorts that awards mass quantities of consumables and such.
Not uncommon to have way more than you'll ever use via this thing

Only at the beginning of both vanilla and Iceborne. Otherwise keep using the Botanical Research with Fertilizers for faster results. Also run steamworks on auto when it fills up naturally, it gives you a lot of free items. Some events give you some crafting items so keep an eye for those.

Most likely they're using mods

500 ancient potions?!?!? I have 9000 of em. There's something called steamworks and during event periods it's super easy to farm.

Upgrade the botanist fully back at camp and he can net you 4 types of vegetation when you return from a hunt. You can also Maintain max returns on this with the red soil fertilizer on all item types. Each honey stack gives you 8 per quest.

Barring that, once you reach the grinding lands make a farming set for minerals to get ore for the steamworks. At 10x payout, you will have a decent haul of supplies every time it overloads just by mashing buttons for about 15-30 min on that minigame. Wait for the Overload reward to be King Armor Spheres for maximum benefit.

Playing a lot and combining the Tailraider Safari notification with your Botany box causes herbs and such to roll in very quickly, especially when maintaining all (L) fertilisers with Soft Soil, you can keep the chain going indefinitely, producing something like 24 herbs every quest, they add up quickly.

I'm currently growing Gloamgrass and Godbugs to make Dust of Life (which is also good to sell apparently, if you need money) and I've got about 8000 of each at this point, if you just leave it going in the background and don't let the fertilisers run out you'll have more herbs than you know what to do with very quickly.

Don't bother growing healing herbs, you can just buy plain regular potions directly from the shop. Instead grow honey, and convert those into mega potions - everything in the shop is really cheap, especially during seasonal events.

Also the Steamworks chucks out so many Max Potions and Mega Barrelbombs that it's not even funny, if your friends have been regularly spending their fuel on that thing they'll be loaded down in them very quickly.

All pointless... go mushroommancer and grow shrooms. Best skill in the game and pretty cheap to max.
