Whats an early armor with earplugs?
So Im new in the game, and from my experience in MHFU I can tell that I hate being stunned by roars, so well, whats an early armor with earplugs so I can keep crushing them while they cry?

I'm pretty confident in saying that it's impossible to get 5 points of Earplugs before bazel armor high rank.

The Beotodus armor would be the earliest one but you'd need a lvl 3 earplug charm to max out the skill.

Earplugs are a tricky skill to figure out. All I need is 2 points of the skill for my ears, but where the hell do I stick the other 3 points?

Bazelgeuse armour, if I recall. The helmet and the waist piece was pretty much part of my go-to set back in High Rank, at least before Gamma stuff started rolling out, I'm pretty sure.

I don't know if that gives you Earplugs 5 just from that, though. You might need additional Earplug jewels.

Really don't think any other monsters give you meaningful Earplugs armour skills up until Bazelgeuse comes along, anyway. Far as I remember, you can fight Bazelgeuse the moment you open up High Rank Expeditions, but you'll have a tough time killing him with your Zorah Magdaros armour, I think.

He's also worth killing as soon as you can anyway so you can make the Power and Armour Talons (they stack with your Power and Armour charm, as well!)

I tried that, but the rest of the group hated that I kept carting every 30ish seconds. Maybe 40 with a deep breath.

Every type of monster (fanged wyvern, flying wyvern) etc has a a distinct tell that warns you it's about to roar. Some monsters have more than one tell.

Watch a video and learn what these tells are. The i frames are at the very beginning of the dodge so once you know what to look for dodging roars becomes very easy.

Once you get good at dodging roars they become free openings for damage and you'll save some slots by not running earplugs.

It's really not that hard to do once you learn to recognise the roar animations.

To each their own.
I find with certain weapons (hunting horn or gunlance, for example) against certain monsters, earplugs IS a DPS gain since you can just ignore the roars and go for meatier swings during that animation.
