Does anyone know if Capcom intends to release THE NEXT Monster Hunter game on Steam?

FYI, MHW development started at 2014, announcement at 2017 and launched at 2018, They need 4-5 years development cycle. After this,seems Capcom will move from MT Frameworks to RE Engine for next gen. Expect same cycle like MHW, maybe 2022/2023 we will get sixth gen Monster Hunter game.

For next MH, it seems the spicy rumor said they will launch new nintendo switch Monster Hunter game with modified RE Engine, wait for TGS next month if this rumor to be true. From IT development perspective, they will/ are testing Monster Hunter mechanic to be implemented in RE Engine step by step.

mh3u was released in 2009, mh4u in 2013, word in 2017, if the next one is going to be switch it will be propably 2021, which leaves another game for 2025, but i still hope there will be something for pc/consoles in 2021

No clue what their next game will be, but their next mainline game (probably for next gen consoles at this point, like Bethesda waiting for next gen before working on ES6) will most likely definitely be on the PC along with the consoles, sure. Can't imagine why they'd ignore such an obvious revenue stream, especially since the PC version has done really well, especially beyond expectations anyway.

Hopefully this time they might release the PC version at the same time as the console version, I really don't want to buy a PS5 just so I can play it just like I did before, buying a PS4 to play World on release lol, not to mention I don't want to suffer through delayed updates and avoiding spoilers for major releases again, not to mention a rushed content catch-up period which made gear redundant almost as soon as it arrived in Iceborne, lol.

Then there's the question of crossplay. That sure would be a nice thing to have.

Anyway yeah. They might still whack out some titles for handhelds or whatever while they work on the next major instalment, but I think it's definite that we'll see another Monster Hunter game on PC, yes.

You skipped GenU, which was 2015. A portable game is due soon.

At this point, I doubt there will be any downgrades. They have clearly stated that low power hardware limited creativity and freedom. World was finally the point where all that limiters were removed
