Safi LS. What are the best awakened abilities?
Currently I have Attack VI, Attack 5, Teostra Technique and 2 Sharpness 5.

But I'm thinking about dropping the two sharpness 5 for 2 attack 5. Would that be better?

Regardless of your build, if you purely want to maximise damage and nothing else, you will want to have at least some purple sharpness and Master's Touch (usually via armor and not the weapon). Purple sharpness boosts damage and Master's Touch reduces downtime from sharpening mid-battle.

The more purple sharpness you have, the easier for you to maintain this boost to damage. As pointed out by Big ROCK, you need the 2 Sharpness V to even get 20 hits of purple.

If you are not confident about maintaining the purple sharpness via Master's Touch (by always hitting tenderised weak spots for the +50 affinity or always hitting weak spots for the +30 affinity, whichever gets you to 100 affinity) then you are actually better off not using Master's Touch because the Safi weapon actually got 120 hits of white sharpness (with 2 sharpness V or 90 with 1 sharpness V) which is way more than enough for all fights except a few in arena-type locations but even then, you will only likely sharpen once mid-battle.

So, if you drop the sharpness to the point where there is no purple or so little purple that you can't maintain it, you are essentially rendering your Master's Touch pointless because 90 or 120 white needs no sharpening mid-battle majority of the time and if you can't maintain the purple sharpness then you are just using white sharpness.

I think 1 sharpness 5 still puts it at 90 white sharpness. Only 2 sharpness 5 crosses over to purple.

Oh yeah, you are right.

In that case, to OP, if you don't at least have 2 Sharpness V, you are better off not using Master's Touch because even 90 hits of white is plentiful for most battles.

Also, with Whetfish Fin+, it reduces the impact of sharpening downtime even more.

I believe the speedrunner meta builds use attack x3 and sharpness x2 for purple sharpness, but for casual players the DPS difference between 2 sharpness upgrades and 2 attack upgrades is so small, it hardly matters.
What *does* matter is sharpness management, and the 2 sharpness upgrades will give you a massive amount of white sharpness. So even if you drop below purple you'll still be doing decent damage. You really want to avoid blue at all costs.
So personally I'd recommend keeping the 2 sharpness upgrades on there.

default settings for safi longsword would be 3 attacks and 2 sharpness but it's all depends on your build it will not always be 3 attacks and 2 sharpness
