ALATREON!?

Why is this guy such a douchebag of an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. WHO THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO ADD THIS... THIS THING IN THE GAME! You should be fired.

I do not have a lot of experience with the DB, but I can give you some general advice that basically applies to all melee weapons.

Use the Kjarr ice DB in combination with the Safi armor set. That is by far the strongest elemental build for most melee weapons and this is generally regarded as a meta build for elemental weapons.

For skills use Health Boost 3, Blight resistance 3 and I also highly recommend slotting an evade skill into your build as well so that you can keep damaging him while evading his area of effect moves.
I also recommend slotting in the skill that boosts the element that youre using so that would be ice in this example. Get that skill as high as you can as the higher this skill is the more elemental damage you deal and that makes it significantly easier to hit the DPS check. With the correct build you can hit the DPS check in a matter of minutes.

Keep in mind that you have to break the horns which is rather tricky with the DB. You can also opt to use a more neutral element such as water, thunder or dragon. You can use the plunderblade to farm his materials and craft the Alatreon DB which is the best dragon element DB if I'm not mistaken. If youre using dragon element then you no longer have to worry about breaking the horns, although hitting the DPS check becomes slightly more difficult.

If there are any moves in particular that youre struggling with then do tell and I'll give you a few pointers on how to effectively dodge them and where you should position yourself.

Another rage at alatreon xD
i love it as a monster but yeah the fight with him can be super annoying. just keep on trying and look up how and what you should do in order to beat him and hopefully you can do it solo or with randoms.

the only reason for escaton be there is to punish non elemental hunter to death,

Use elemental weapons against him, it's really not that hard

Alatreon is the ultimate end game challenge and he requires a lot of experience and a really well thought out build to defeat.
If you could be a bit more specific about what it is youre struggling with then I'd be happy to give you some advice on how to beat him.
Anyone can beat him, but he is a challenge and you have to understand his mechanics and how to counter him.

What weapon/armor are you using and what moves in particular are you struggling with?
Can you hit the elemental DPS check? What kind of equipment are you using and what kind of items are you using?

He's definetly a lot easier to do solo so my first recommendation would be to do him solo.
This might be stating the obvious, but do not use non-elemental weapons against him! Blast weapons do not work and will not weaken the Escaton Judgement.
Other then that it's a bit hard to give you concrete advice as I lack the information to be able to help you in greater detail.

If you find yourself getting frustrated then there's no shame in taking a break! It took me about 20 tries to beat him and he's definetly one of the toughest monsters to defeat!

Okay yeah it can feel like absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in many ways and the game doesn't do a good job of explaining things but in the end it's not THAT bad.

You could get help with what weapons/armor to use and having a pre-made party beforehand (possibly of experienced players willing to help you) is a huge advantage over having the timer going while waiting for others to join SOS (which IMO is the largest problem with the Special Assignment which only happens cause they wanted the fight to start straight from the cut scene cause that's cool and awesome or something).

So basically the whole MH team?

Do some research about his weakness (in his fire state he is weak to ice (+) and water (-) and in his ice state he is weak to fire (+) and thunder (-).

And don't just pick a weapon with a bit of elemental on it, you have to invest on it, the kjarr weapons (Kulve Taroth) are the BEST weapons for dealing with monster that are weak to X element then come the safi weapons.

Make your build and you're set, learn his fight, his move, when to attack and when not to, that's how you play Monster Hunter.

That's how it was and how it will be.

Am I the only one who just laughs at the Alatreon rage threads?
Like people are not looking for tips or help, they simply want to rant because they don't understand and are not willing to watch a vid on how to beat it.

Alatreon is 2nd best fight in the entire game, everything it does is 100% fair and balanced, yes that includes the judgment. The devs made a fantastic fight that rewards positioning, timing and skill with an incredible fight that only the most casuals of casuals are unable to beat. I guess this is what happens when people get hard carried to endgame.

Can't wait for the Fatalis rage...
