for what litle realism count in MH lol
hunters themself already use absurdly unwieldable weapons
a little bug lifting a hunter is in fact almost more realistic as many existing bugs can lift things way heavyer than themself
World changed many things that were core of mh experience for many. The main thing for me is art, sfx and music. Can't stand looking at this game, and b-52 theme (+new narga is cool) is the only one i really like. Which is weird, since all of the composers are the same.
As for the gameplay, it has heavily shifted towards more agression and reflex-based gameplay over the positioning. It is hardly seen in the base game - only in AT Nergi fight, but people say that in iceborne, especially with Rajang, it is seen clearly. Item restock killed most of resource management and war of attririon/some parts of risk/reward. This addition also changed how fights work - in this game (at least in the base one. Couldn't play much iceborne when it released and now have no mood for it) you can cart only when monster OHKO you or stuns and kills afterwards (and there are stuns like every 4 hits.). I am almost sure that this is to balance out lack of attrition and more fluid hunter moveset. The armor skill system makes every armor set the same unless you are doing some meta or want to counter AT monster since you can simply add any decos you like to any set. And many more slight yet impactful changes. I'm more than fine with world as a game in terms of gameplay, but i can see why people can prefer the older titles.
Though rise seems to fix every non-gameplay problem i had with world. 10/10. Would buy switch for it.
it's obviusly not a 4k console
at best it will be compatible with 4k tv via upscaling
MH games have always been heavily reflex based AND positioning based. You have i-frames to use ON REACTION and that's always been the case - in fact even MORE so in previous games.
Also, item restock is in rise. It's a permanent addition to the franchise. We don't know about the armor skill system but rise looks like it's predominantly taking from world over other MH games.
This literally isn't true though. Anyone complaining about these specific things is OBJECTIVELY incorrect. In fact positioning is even more important in world because some attacks CAN'T be i-framed through. This isn't a dig at you just to be clear, but anyone using this as a reason for why they "dislike world" is...♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid.
Every single endgame monster in G, GU, 4, 4U had huge, sweeping attacks that could knock out 3-4 hunters if they weren't paying attention and oftentimes they only way to avoid them was either to A)dive or B) EVADE using your i-frame.
Here's a list of examples from both mainline AND spinoff games where huge attacks were designed to be i-framed through.

ALL of these monsters have huge, sweeping attacks that are oftentimes BEST to i-frame through, which is reflex and timing based. These are also all "Endgame" monsters, but even monsters like the great jaggi have tailswipes that are oftentimes best I-FRAMED through instead of just "outpositioning."
If they're using the "well positioning was more important in old games" argument...no, it's just incorrect. They are objectively wrong. If anything it's actually more important in WORLD as some attacks literally CANNOT be i-framed through, even with evade+
Guess you'll just need to wait for the next MH game on PC then. See you in 2 years
These responses are so annoying. You realize we here on pc can just emulate the game almost on release right?
The issue is a lot of people (like myself) want to actually purchase special editions of the game or want to be able to play online with friends easier.
I don't get why players don't understand the disappointment. I'm still getting the game myself, but yeah lol
why should we understand the disappointments of pirates? (yes running a game you didn't buy on emulators is still piracy)
You can literally buy the switch files via digital download and dump the files if you have a modded switch. It's not hard, and it's completely legal.
I myself is mostly fine since i love portable consoles (alright, 3ds is the one i tolarate) and now there would be an actual reason to buy switch.
However, as for those who dissapointed
If capcom releases Rise for PC (as there are many Vita, ps2 and some psp ports on pc that are still coming out), there would be no reasons for pirates to pirate/emulate this game in order to play it. Buying whole console, let alone console you don't like, for one game is not something everyone wants to do.
Not to mention again, the completely legal process of finding someone to dump your game's files for you or doing it yourself. It's how I've been playing mhxx xD
