Black Spiral Horns
Need to know if I am missing something.
I have killed half a dozen black diablos which is frustraiting enough in of its self as I struggle with this fight, smashing both horns each time and no horns are dropping?

It's not a guaranteed drop so all you can do is keep going.

According to : https://monsterhunterworld.wiki.fextralife.com/Black+Spiral+Horn++

The drop rate are 65%, 18% and 14% for respectively breaking horns, gold reward and silver reward. And 6% as quest reward for Rumble in the waste.

As long as you're breaking the horns...no

I assume you're doing investigations and not just the same optional quest over and over?

i prioritize investigations with silver/gold rewards, with a cutting weapon its hard to break her horns so i prefer speedy hunts and try and get the 3-4 that i need over 6 or so hunts from the bonus reward boxes. you also get them as a reward sometimes from non part breaks. (so it comes out to be about 20-25 minutes for all of those hunts before i get what i want.

I am running a hammer and only in investigations, i have a fair few for black diablos much to my dismay.

the run in smash horn and leave tactic worked though, wish i had thought of that lol
