So tired of this **** PC port
Anyone else getting stuttering framerate after the last update? It was fine for me before the last 1 or 2 updates.

Every few seconds, it doesnt matter what i am doing in game, it doesn't matter what settings are on or off, the game will drop 1 2 or 3 frames resulting in stutter/micro hitching. It can even be replicated on command by, for example, going to the elder melder, picking meld items, then start pressing right or left on the dpad. With each dpad press left or right, (cycling through the pages) you will see the micro stutter and if you have steam fps counter on, you will see it drop frames.

Honestly i might just switch back to console monster hunter at this point. Denuvo probably doesn't help this PC port either.

EDIT: The elder melder thing is working as intended and not a bug. Everything else in this thread is true though.

nah, the denuvo was fine, my PC at max settings before iceborne was able to see 100 fps with the occasional FPS drop, which i assumed was denuvo running its periodic check or the devs garbage code. either way, nothin i could do about it.

since iceborne, i've peaked maybe 85 fps? but it was faaaaar worse when iceborne dropped, something like 65fps was my peak.

this is running everything maxed out and on @ 2k resolution. with the minimum drivers they recommend to use. something like 455 or 445. its whatever they suggest as the absolute minimum driver version for nvidia cards.

i guess i should clarify: it is like every 10 or 15 seconds. most noticeable when running throughout the world. It very well might just be the game does not like my computer, but still, we all know that, while MHW is an awesome game itself, the port job is just kinda meh... But i am attributing some of that to trash Denuvo which i honestly cannot believe devs are still using in 2020.

The elder melder thing i actually think is on purpose, i just never noticed it before. You can see the water in the jugs jump each time you press the dpad-- the game must be loading something.

Yeah, melder does that for everyone when you change pages. I assume it does on console too.

Are you running HIgh Res pack? Or standard?
Same :steamsad:.
I don't understand how one update makes things smooth and the next one is potato. I even locked fps to 60 but it doesn't seem to do anything other than dip to 45~ when I can easily reach 100~ uncapped lol....

Yeah, the game even if the fps counter does not go down, when running around the game feels just kinda choppy and strange now. Again, this port just makes me mad. When i get my trash consoles back i might just switch to MHW on PS4 pro or xbox one x.

It was always there you simply didn't noticed it.
1-3 fps drops are related to the running key, simply spam it and you see how it drops.
The issue exist since kulve release and was never fixed so better get used to it.

It is like these Lense Flare Effects in the new Star Trek movies. The Films where ruined for me as a friend told me about it.

Do u have other steam pre loaded (not release) downloaded? i have similar problem after win10 update to v.2004 and F1 2020 preloaded. i rolled back to last win10 i had, problem since exist. I keep trying many things, then i notice when i roll back my sound card driver were gone. so i reinstalled the driver , in the same time my pre load f1 2020 is release. steam do it things. after that no more stutter.

So here i find:

Win10 big update recently? check most the setting, specially "Game Mode"

Check any driver is up to date or true working driver, not MS default drivers.

Any preloaded game waiting?

I started noticing it after Frostfang Barioth was released. Before that game was running fine.
And before that it was running like ♥♥♥♥.
And before that it didn't even launch.
And before that i had to disable windows defender to avoid it to eat all RAM when iceborne was running (only iceborne).
And before that........... :)

Nothing new :)

yes i swear it got worse after big windows update, but the game itself has strange things going on in the background when it is running, i swear i can just feel it in the gameplay and controls. It is a very strange console port and like i said, the implementation of denuvo probably factors in in some way.

I have the same issue and I made a thread about it as well where other users confirmed that the issue appeared for them too. It seems to be related to the latest update and I have no idea why an update that is unrelated to optimisation causes issues like this.
It seems to me that it's the issue that originated when Kulve Taroth was released for the first time only the latest patch seems to have made the issue worse somehow.

I have a high-end system myself and even when I set everything to the lowest setting, the game still stuttered. I've done some pretty extensive testing and I can confirm that it is indeed caused by the game itself and a lot of other users here on the forums confirmed my suspicion.

It is not related to Denuvo in any way as no noticeable link has been found to Denuvo when it comes to performance issues in Monster Hunter World. There's a lot of misinformation on the subject, but in general the performance impact is very minor unless youre using a lower end system. This stuttering issues started occuring after the Kulve Taroth patch and by then the game already had Denuvo for a long time. The two are not related.

I have reported the issue to Capcom and I would strongly urge everyone who is experiencing it to do the same so they can get this fixed as soon as possible.
They've also made a thread on the tech support forum about this issue so be sure to leave a comment there as well!

Some person in this thread also made note of the run button causing frame stutter and i can 100 percent confirm that to be true. I just did some testing in seliana and if you pick a spot, say the area where you spawn by the item box and vendors, run in circles, keep tapping the run button-- the framerate will hitch and stutter the entire time you tap it, then it will clear up when you stop tapping. Also, this does not seem to be reflected in the steam fps counter.

WOW. Seriously. it is annoying as all hell because tapping the run button for varying periods of time is one of the main things you do in this game.

Yes that's the issue I'm talking about and the latest patch seems to have made it worse and the stutter is a lot more frequent now, sometimes it does not appear to be related to running.
You can see the stutter if youre using a frametime graph. The graph cleary shows the hitch or stutter.

All we can do is report it to Capcom and hope that a fix is issued as soon as possible.
It seems that this issue affects everyone, regardless of system specifications.
