monster hunter running even when i closed?

Hey guys, do you have this problem when you quit the game but it appears as if its still running and wont even appear in the task manager, i cannot close it from steam either, all i have to do is restart my laptop and im tired of it... i searched for help in the steam support but they wont give me a good answer.

yeah i tried uninstalling everything and installing again and it is still not working.

some help pls!! D:

It should be in the processes in task manager. Kill it from there. It's not just MHW that does this, I have a few games that do this.

The things is that MHW doesnt appear as opened in my task manager thats why im having a lot of troubles with it UmU

It just takes half a minute to sync up for me, I don't think any other game does that.

Yeah it may just be the game syncing up with the cloud. Some games take longer than others.

On my laptop I previously had issues with MHW seeming to not "fully" shut down -- i.e. like not releasing the display back to the OS, but in my case a quick Ctrl+Alt+Del to summon the Task Manager verified that the game was indeed closed (no lingering processes), and switching the game's display settings off "Fullscreen" to "Windowed" (or Borderless Window) resolved it entirely.

oh man i am reading all of your answers, thank you all! yeah it is still happening but i figured out that when i put in the game close to tittle and then close the game from there wont apprear as running anymore though it is a little more tedious... thank you all im still trying and verify if it will work forever like that or idk :D

i tried that too and still the same D: i used to play it in borderless but the graphs and stuff werent nice enough so i changed it to Fullscreen, still in both settings had the problem of the game not really shutting down in steam cuz it didnt apprear in the task manager ;(

yeah i even try to stop if from steam but wont work anyway, i realised that when you put in the game "close to tittle" and then put quit game in the title it will propperly close in both steam and task manager but im not sure if it will work forever like that, try it too!

I tried Borderless Window too, except that MHW seems to want to stretch it to fill the full screen anyway (with some noticeable scaling artifacts if set to a non-native resolution).

(MHW also keeps bugging me about updating my display driver, except that I am already using the latest driver known to both OEM and Windows 10)
