Game not launching anymore
Last time I played the game was on July 31, and tried starting it up again yesterday but it wasnt working. I tried all day yesterday to fix it, such as:

Disabling Antivirus
Exclusion with Firewall
Verifying game files
Reinstalling steam
Reinstalling the game
Deleting files/Verifying the game again
Updated Windows
Updated graphics card

Literally so many things ive sort of lost track

I'm just dont know what to do at this point and i wonder if its a issue with the game itself since it was working fine days ago but now isnt. I havent added anything or done anything with my pc since then either. Hope they can fix it or if there's any solutions I havent tried yet id be willing to.

This last update is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ joke. I never had any problems playing the game but all of a sudden i get 3 crashes in a row without any error codes.

I was a desperate man so I did what any other crazy fool would and that's Reset my computer. I had all files be deleted except for those that came with windows pro.

ONE thing though. I transfer my MHW file to an external HD cause ♥♥♥♥ downloading MHW with the high-res texture all over again (97GB)

Upon setting up my machine I did the basics, downloaded Steam, MSI Afterburner and GeForce for the drivers.

I launched steam and simply found the game Library so I wouldnt have to re-download MHW. Whadaya know? The game launches just fine even after shutting my PC down. So the game files are not the fault since I carried the ones from my old image to this new image.

One thing to note is that if I run the game with DirectX 11 the game crashes, so I'm forced to run the game with DirectX 12. Also, if I turn the high-res pack ON, shadows and other lighting effects flicker and glitch all over the screen, the game runs but I cant see ♥♥♥♥ since texture packs for NPCs stretch out and cover the screen. I am not running mods as of the moment.
My Nvidia drives are 452.06
Could it be the Nvidia drives ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up? The game launches just fine now, but my current issue is the damn textures and shadows flickering and glitching if I'm not careful on what settings I activate

I also re-installed windows and the game worked for a bit. This was after installing the latest drivers for Nvidea, so I’m sure it was a clean install for the video drivers. However, the game once again started doing the black screen thing after several hours. At this point I thought that maybe a program I had just downloaded was contributing so I uninstalled GOG Galaxy and it seemed to work again for awhile. Then it started again. Up to this point I hadn’t installed any Win updates so then I installed those and it worked. We’ll see how it goes later today, but there hasn’t been any rhyme or reason in my experience.

Wish there was an eta on the next update just to have something to look forward to. Sucks missing all the event quests.

Ok, so this might help. I got a friend who is able to get on to send me a pic of his install in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Monster Hunter World I then deleted any folders or files that didn't jive with his fresh install. These were the files that i removed: loader-config.json, dtdata.dll, loader.dll.

After I did that, it booted up without a problem.

Here is a pic of my friend's PC for reference:

I hope this helps!

This is a fresh install on my end. Seems as if it's not installing correctly

That's actually what a proper install is supposed to look like. Raven's friend had mods installed, hence the extra files.

Just bought the game. Installed the HD texture pack. Using latest 452.xx drivers. Thoroughly went through the important things in my setup as I have gotten HZD to work without texture glitches.

2080 OC to 2010/8000
i7-4790k no OC
16GB DDR3 2400

Has going back to DX11 helped anyone?

Many of us had never used DX12, think that's unrelated

I experienced a lot of issues with my PC after the past two feature updates, so I fresh installed Windows 10. I still DO NOT recommend you do this to play, as it's inevitably going to break again from what I'm hearing from other fresh installers.

I've installed 452.06 and it's working so far. I will be setting restore points often and see the second it breaks if I can restore back and get it working again. This should allow me to trace what's really breaking it hopefully.

Going to take this slowly so I get some actual time to play for once this month, but I'll update when it eventually does blackscreen.

Bumping this up. Same issue here, tried most of the suggested fixed (i wipe my pc every 6 months im not doing it now just for this) and no luck. Capcom have gone quiet on us it appears.

This is now the second week its not fixed for me, almost a month for some.

I was praising the series as this is my first MH but after a month of no reply i don't think i will be buying any sequels after this.

i used to be like you
It isnt necessary to wipe every 6 months with Win10 unless you're doing something sketchy.

Assuming you have plenty of free space
Not sure what else could be causing it, outside of hardware causes.

Folks, I found a possible solution for the crashing! Right click on your taskbar or hold the Windows key and press X. A menu should open up. Click "Windows Powershell (Admin)" and type in "netsh winsock reset" without the quotes. Press Enter and then restart your computer and try launching MHW.

I just submitted a third ticket to Capcom about this. Hopefully the third time's a charm to get an actual response from them.
jkteddy77 24 AGO 2020 a las 9:47 p. m.
couple days in, my fresh install is still working, multiple restarts. The black screen wait at start gets longer and longer each day... nerve-wracking, but it starts after 20 sec.
I have not attempted mods in fear of it breaking.
I'm setting restore points after every system change for when it does.

Haven't heard from Capcom in 2 weeks either after sending my system info. We really need our experiences contributed to the devs, they don't even ask for any game logs or even our Steam usernames.
