But I understand
Oh, man...when I read that synopsis a while back, I thought somebody was pulling a prank. And isn't the guy who made the Resident Evil movies making this one too (it was either that, or Jovovich was starring in it, I forget, I know it was something RE related :P). IDK how I feel about this...I mean, I've knocked on movies I ended up enjoying (Child's Play and Pet Sematary were guilty pleasures in the end) but even a diehard RE fan like me won't vouch for the flicks.
I'm more curious about what's happened with that animated short they were working on :/
It doesn't look that terrible, I would watch it, but I would be too embarrassed to be seen watching a movie about a game.
That might make it a Game of the Year contender from many of the mainstream gaming sites.
If Warcraft couldn't make a good movie after so many years in development I truly think it's next to impossible for a Monster Hunter movie to be good.
It looks okay
It's the plot itself that doesn't sit right with me. Like Tony Jaa is Field Team Leader and it looks like he spends the whole film with Mila
When in game he is with you for three quests then has his own stuff to deal with like working with the commander on new targets and monsters of interest. Honestly it would make more sense if Handler and Seeker went with Mila and Jaa just showed up now and then. The synopsis even brought up "mysterious nomad" for Jaa's character and I was a bit confused. But again, getting nitpicky because that is the one thing I'm hard focused on
He could have used 4U since I personally think it had so much to offer in terms of story. Or the lore of the universe itself like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Paul wth. He says he really loves the series and is a long-time follower of it (he played the original PS2 MonHun, he says), so I was a bit confused since he chose MHW but I guess since MHW was alot of people's entry point into the series it kinda made sense? But man, a wormhole???
Monster Hunter Movie
Trade-in Item RARITY 1
"A piece of media made to show our way of life to outside folk. It was poorly recieved, though..."
Price: 1z
Yeah, sadly I don't think any of the backdrop of the series will be explored. I think it's just going to be a MHW love letter as it's been such a huge hit that has drawn new players. Not all doom and gloom though, dumb movies can still be fun and there's a non-zero chance that even if the movie isn't deep it's still enjoyable. Seeing Xeno'Jiva in movie budget CGI would certainly be a sight to behold. Here's hoping.
