Shield Jewel Farm Tips?

After taking a long break from this game due to getting frustrated with Shield Jewel farming I decided to try to come back and attempt again. Unfortunately I'm just having the same result. Farming the same monster over and over with nothing to show for it.

Current farming method - "The Name's Lavasioth" quest. I make sure to capture it every time for extra rewards.

It takes maybe 5 minutes at most but the result is always the same. Somewhere between 3-5 warped gems and none of them turn out to be Shield Jewels. I managed to get an attack gem in that time which feels like the game is just mocking me. Is there any way to up my chances or am I just at the mercy of bs rng yet again?

I hate to sound like I'm whining but I just want to get this thing done. With all the horror stories I've seen of people spending days or even months farming for this stuff I just don't want to deal with that crap, but I also really would like this jewel to maximize the builds I want to make.

Edit: Just managed to get a Mighty Bow gem from this farm. Now I know the game is just screwing with me. Also sorry to those farming for a Mighty Bow :L

I cannot understand why a game developer would make it so difficult to get an essential item for endgame play. I've been wasting time with the same Lavasioth quest trying to get a Mighty Bow Jewel. The time spent doing that quest could have been spent doing Master rank events to level up my Master rank.

The desire sensor is working as intended. It's a sophisticated program that's been perfected for over a decade and a half to perfectly simulate what it's like to be dealing with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

well just in case i have gotten all 3 of my shield jewels are from that event quest The name's lavasioth. never any mighty bow decoration though. my ps4 account has one while my pc account has 2. and yeah the grinds a pain in the butt.

My name's lavasioth is the best method, if you want to increase your chances further, wear 2 pieces of high rank legiana, but here speed is more important then anything else you can do, the fastest methods are 3 pieces of master rank Zorah, 2 piece HR legiana, and a sticky ammo build, or even better, 3 piece Safi, 2 piece HR legiana, and run a rapid fire water ammo light bowgun, my fastest time was 1 min 43 seconds, and I didn't bother to capture, j just killed him.


It took me nearly 250 runs to get mind's eye, but k got 2 shield jewels within my first 50, it's all RNG, any attempt could finally be the one, bit the more attempts you can do, the more likely you are to get it by the end of the event, buckle up, and focus on mission time (essentially try to be a speedrunner, if nothing else, it gives you another objective to focus on that you can control, while you hope for guard up)

If you've managed to reach Guiding lands, then I found that it's much better to just farm coal with lvl 3 geologist & master gatherer for like an hour. Then, use all that coal in the steam works with 10x output. U can easily get over a 100 steel tickets, some silvers & if you're really lucky... some gold tickets.

Of course, it's not guaranteed you'll get what u want but it is an alternative option that can get u more useful mats (e.g armor spheres, life powders etc) as a bonus rather than just pounding ol'lavvy all day long.

Kill Lavasioth(The Name's Lavasioth event) until you can't stomach the game anymore.

Shield, Mind's Eye and Mighty Bow don't drop from ticket melding. Confirmed by dataminers a couple months back.

Wow really. I don't really check data miners so I didn't know that was the case. I just assumed u can get any deco from melding. Don't know why they would decide to separate the loot tables.

Yeah, I looked that up after I started grinding for Shield on my second character after I had spent a couple of days grinding the guiding lands for fuel. Boy was that a rude discovery. Two days wasted, pretty much, as I got nothing else of value out of those silver-tickets.
