Punishing draw

With frost dang barioth coming, and this skill coming up as a 1 price set bonus, it can combine with 4 pieces of velkhana for frostcraft

I'm wondering if they will be worth using together on the clutch attack HBG build, how much extra damage from punishing draw? Is it a flat, or a percentile increase, how much stun?

Any clarification on what exactly this skill does would be appreciated :)

It's only 5 raw, apparently. So, it'd increase the shown damage on a heavy bowgun by 7-8 depending on how the game rounds things.

Haven't looked over the frostfang armor yet, so, not sure how the skills stack up for replacing something else in a crit draw hbg set.

Does anyone know what kind of stun it adds? It could have some interesting utility at least :) tenderize and KO all on one ;D

It's 20 stun buildup per use according to discord. Which... is kinda crap. Not counting the stat decay over time, that's ten hits to the head to KO Blackveil Vaal once.

Your guess is as good as mine. From what I've seen his weapons are bad, his armour is bad, and his Gunlance isn't even Long 7 just to rub salt in any GL mains who wanted to keep being a charged shelling tank (as far as I know anyway) so yeah.

Apparently you're gonna need like 60 or so tickets from him for whatever reason, to make all the gear, charms and the layered weapons or other stuff, but don't quote me on that, it's just something I vaguely remember seeing when people data mined him on like Day 1, and I haven't bothered checking up on it since so that info may have changed.

Personally I was hoping Capcom made his gear look bad on purpose to annoy / punish people who hacks the stuff in early, releasing a stealth patch that "corrects" it an hour before the event quest goes live, but yeah I can't see them doing that, lol.

Everyone and their mother seemed to want a new Nargacuga. I never saw a single person say they liked Barioth let alone wanted a variant of him, lol. He has such a stupid face..

I liked Barioth... back in 3U. He's one of the few monsters I've made a full G-Rank armor set of. The male armor had a really cool chivalrous design. Built-in Evade +2 was pretty good back in the day.

Not going to lie despite how unfavourable my opinion generally is towards Frostfang Barioth and his equipment, I'm looking forward to setting up some Focus 3, Critical Draw 3, Airborne, Frostcraft + Punishing Draw Greatsword shenanigans. I recall hitting like 750's with fully charged aerials using a Greatsword with a similar set up before, and it'll be fun going back to it, mixing things up a little. As a little bonus, his gear sort of looks like it'd pair well with Velkhanas visually anyway, even though we have Layered armours it's always nice when your base armour looks good enough that you don't need it (similar to the current meta Safi and Furious armour mix of red and gold)

Also, Frostfang Barioth looks very cool, especially compared to his basic form. It makes me wish Barioth could have just looked like that in the first place, though.

Variant could be a way for Capcom to respond to complaints about the Barioth fight....maybe. I've seen some clips of the fight from their Twitter, and it looks like he doesn't move around as much as a regular one.

actualy in terms of akill/slots effincency frostfang barioth is pretty decent

for example the helm,
if you are using a safi weapon and don't mind to trade 10 raw for teo essence you can swap to frost fang helm and it's a direct upgrade in slots

the chest is also really godd for builds that don't run agitator or focus
