Optimizing the Game's Code
Is there a way that Capcom can get around to optimizing the code of the game? Back in Iceborne's early days, my craptop could handle it with about 30-35 FPS. Nowadays, its dropped to 25, and getting worse.

I've noted that, amongst Mods and coders that have looked into the game, there is a lot of suboptimal code in the game, causing it to slow down. Supposedly, its enough to jump me up to near 40 FPS. Which is... Quite astounding, honestly.

I get that having content is important, but I'd like to be able to play that content, rather than having to wait until I can fork over another $1200 or so for something half-decent, so I can continue to play.

They way I understand it, the MH team optimises their source little by little which each update. I have a decent machine (Ryzen 5, 1070ti, 24GB RAM), and I would also like a smoother ride. This game makes my fans start screaming; my machine is totally silent for othet AAA games like Destiny.

There is a mod to reduce cpu usage (but 15FPS gain? nope) and you can try reducing your screen resolution. If none of these options work, you can post your graphics_options.ini, so we can see if there is something that can be tuned down.

I already have everything on lowest, with a pretty shoddy screen resolution. For now, I'll just try to be patient.

The game was designed on a PC but for consoles, so its made for a basically a high end PC with near PS4 and Xbone specs, but the consoles have dedicated gaming data pipes, so it runs better on a console even on a equal spec PC.
The port is basically the design PC meant to run on a console with some more options, so if you have the same or better specs than the design PC, you get the full performance, however if your PC is lower then it breaks, as its not designed to scale.

On my PC it runs at 60 FPS with all the settings on high, but my system is better than a PS4 or Xbone (I7 intel 4.1 ghx, 16 gig ram, gtx 1070, SB card), so basically the PC version is a Console version with some settings.

I noticed the same thing here on my beast of a PC... just before Iceborne i could run 4k60+High rez textures even.. Iceborne came out even without the high rez. texturepack it couldn't even hold 1080p60.
and over the past few patches it slowly improved again..
Untill the latest.
Now its about as bad for me as at launch.
Just like with the Launch update... DX12 crashes everyonce in a while.. and DX11 splices whatever FPS you could get out of it in halve.
CPU often spikes to 100%.
i cant even hit 60fps with 1080 of 1440 anymore..

All of these problems where fixed for me over the updates in the past yet with the latest one.. there all back.

Hope they fix it again soon.

My pc is at this point pretty old and has a damaged cooling system and some other issues. Most games that come out nowdays are hard to run even with low settings except monster hunter and it got better and better with every patch to stable 60 fps on high so dk what happend :praisesun:.

I get inconsistent framerates at 1080p. My i7 9700k frequently sits pinned at 100% usage while my graphics card doesn't even get to work that much, how can that CPU be a bottleneck in a game today? This game desperately needs optimization.

im not so sure if its optimization i have a I7-4470k 3.50 ghx / 32 GB RAM / AMD Radeon HD 8970 Graphics.
