Hey guys, I decided to pick the game up after being gone for a few years. I thought I would try insect glaive this time around, but the controls are really wonky. Is there any way to set jump to it's own button? My character dodges most of the time. I also tried switching to controller but I didn't see any setting for it; also, who on earth uses the B button to attack?

Also, while I'm here, I tried using the new 1234 system but it appears I have to double tap the button. Is that right or am I doing it wrong?

while i can't give a great answer,

I am pretty sure you can't put the IG vault on a single input... mines on control+space... it took a while for me to get used to doing the input clean but i don't think much of it now.


1234 system ? you mean hot keys ? iirc there is mutiple settings for the hot keys... the way i have mine set, is i can press Z X C V to change one of the layers of hot binds, then when i press 1-8 (or whatever) it will automaticly use that shortcut, i do not need to bring up the shortcut menu to use one of the binds.

pretty sure when you have the setting as the other way around, you need to bring up the shortcuts first before you can use them

Ah, ok. I will mess with the shortcuts some more, I must have them on the wrong setting.

As for insect glaive, that's disappointing. I currently have ctrl bound to thumb button on mouse (which in most games is dodge) but that doesn't seem to help. I may have to try a different weapon.

Yeah, unfortunately while this game does have relatively extensive key binding, without using some form of macro software, you can't map multi button functions like the insect glaive jump to a single key/button.

I am... unfortunately forgetting the name of the macro software I used to use for that sort of thing.

Actually, I found it! It's under Simultaneous Action. In the case of glaive, RT+A (Dodge and Special) is what is needed to use one button to jump.

Also, I found the setting for one use hotkeys. Thanks for the help!

You can use pretty much any software that comes with your mouse, as long as it's not a 50 year old Tesco budget ps2 mouse :) I don't use macros in any game but my logitech software has the option.

As for the shortcuts, sadly that is double tap. Since your shortcuts come in 4 custom ones, You need to activate one which brings it up and then you hit the key that has the item you want. If your currently active shortcut is say the first one (F1 by default) and you hit "1" because that's your mega potion, the first keypress will just bring up the shortcut so you can see it. THEN you hit 1 again to use the potion. Imagine the first keypress as you bringing up the currently selected shortcut.
I'd guess this is to make sure you don't accidentaly sharpen if that's also set up as your "1" key on the keyboard but instead of having it on F1, it's on F2. This way you can quickly say Oh fek wrong shortcut, hit F1 and spam 1 like a madman to use megapotion

I don't know if this was a thing since the beginning, but you actually made me look into it NyctoLumino.
One key press shortcuts. Now I gotta condition my brain into forgetting how it was before and getting used to this one. I've been using double presses for so long.
