Is the sliding spinning hammer attack considered a jumping attack?
Title.
Does the decoration that increases jumping attack power apply to your sliding spin hammer attack? or is it only the specific attack at which you jump and slam down?

It's an aerial attack, every attack during it is improved by the Airborne skill, and can trigger a mount attack if the threshold is met.

You can test it in the training area pretty quickly if you need to.

The clutch claw attack of the same type where you spin through the air isn't affected by the skill though, and isn't considered an aerial attack...as far as I know. You can't mount with that attack, anyway.

I'm pretty sure the skill only effects jumping attacks from ledges and the IG aerial attacks. Even the Lances "Jumping Charge" isn't effected by the skill. However, you can make use of this if you have a Glider Mantle, grapple, cancel the grapple then attack while you're "gliding". This move works with all weapons and counts as an aerial attack. Helps with racking up mounting damage on top of the bonus from the aerial attacks.

I suspect this to be more viable for Greatsword once we get Frozen Barioth armor.

As far as I known, skill affected any attack that have maunt damage.

Hammer's sliding spin-2-win combo counts as aerial, it both triggers the sliding and jumping jewel skill
Pretty fun stuff :dungdefender:

Doesn't effect the Lances jump attack from a Charge, which does mounting damage.

Does this count as a single draw attack (crit/punishing draw bonus) only the first strike?

Never bothered using Critical Draw for the Hammer but I'm pretty sure Critical Draw effected the Greatswords aerial plunge attack, right? Charging it as you slide down a hill, then jump and hit, plus do a downwards multi hit attack, all effected by the Critical Draw skill?

At least...I think so? Should test it in the training area to be sure, because I don't think I ever paid attention to the follow up hits.

Test this in the guiding lands, summon a silver rathalos in the coral region. The area is perfect for sliding and silver will never leave so unlimited spins (if tempered, a good way to farm great spiritveins)

OK just tested it out, The spinning part is affected by the gem and does in fact deal extra damage but the final blow from the attack at which you land on the ground doesn't get affected.

Against one of the barrels in the training area without the gem I was doing 35 damage per spin hit with 141 damage as the finishing blow.

With the gem I was doing 45 damage per rotation but still hit 141 on the finishing blow.

Both tested at the same sharpness level and recorded without affinity altering hits

PS., the golfswing attack you can do immediately after you land also does a nice bit of damage

But yeah, affinity sliding + airborne with the slide attack is tasy. iirc I was doing ~200 damage p/hit against some monsters, such as mr kulve. And yes, it was epic.

I've seen 700 - 800 damage landing attacks from a fully charged sliding spin with a Hammer before, if that's without a +30% damage bonus backing it up, then damn. That's some meaty damage multipliers on that final hit.
