I Am Once Again Asking For Advice on Solo HH Alatreon

This is my current build but it isn't doing enough damage to stop the nova
I can punish Alatreon on most attacks and I can go the distance in terms of regular combat, I just don't put out enough DPS to stop the nova. Advice?

Try adding more element instead of attack.
Full safi armor should also give you an extra boost.

If you have it, a hard enduring +4 deco, along with protective polish somewhere in your build and using whetfish fin+ will allow you do do a whole bunch of damage without having to worry about sharpness for 1:30 mins.

I mean I'm not really a Hunting Horn expert but don't you want more element against Alatreon rather than just pure attack? I mean I know Attack is nice and will kill him faster, but it doesn't effect your elemental damage at all.

Did you reach the Ice Elemental cap, which is why you've only got Ice Attack 2? I'd be putting everything I had into that, as the first priority. I don't know how elemental caps work but I know I was able to hit 1000 Dragon on Alatreons Hammer, at least. It seems the caps are significantly less restrictive than in vanilla since Iceborne.

Also, it might be worth trying to get purple sharpness, right? It's not a huge deal for raw weapons but it's very good for boosting the output of your elemental weapons, etc. Not sure it'd be worth it if you're going Safi'Jiiva because those weapons start broken and you have to fix them, but you only get limited space to do so and you've already used all of yours amplifying your Ice attack.

you could swap the armor for 5pcs safi beta, then max the ice attack and health boost.
spare slots for affinity or survival jewels

Use safi armor with brachy
Safi helm b, brachy mail b, safi arm b, brachy waist b, safi legs b, element charm 5
Prioritize max agitator, weakness exploit, element attack, and health boost
farm whetfin fish + so you can sharpen easily while fight.

you don't have critical element? try adding it, because it really important.

There is a HH player on youtube called AmaDEUS, I suggest you study this player, because they're one of the better HH players I've seen, and they do guides for the weapon as well.

if you got safi element horns i find 4 slots going element one being a atk melody if it is a direct element weakness (Fire against Ice active mode, and Ice against Fire active mode)

I second this. If you want to get good at HH, check out AmaDeus, Fyra, Grifted and Monster Hunter World PH Elites. They're all incredible channels for learning the horn.

i just use safi+elemental charm and spam a lot of spinning echo wave,somedude in youtube says it deal quite much of elemental damage,dunno its tru or not but it works.make sure to play elemental boost tunes aswell

Try silver rathalos armor because that would pair nicely with your hunting horn that has mostly element increases

There 2 ways:
- Build a specific niche elemental set and spam the encore
- Fortify raw and make sure you ONLY faint to Escarton
