Very regular stuttering - new to the game
Hey guys, I just brought the game and was really looking forward to it.
However, from the start, even with the introduction cinematic, the game encounters regulary some heavy stuttering, and a lag of display between sound and video.

Here are my specs:

I5-4570 3.20 Ghz
1650 GTX 4Gb VRAM
16 Gb RAM
Windows 7 64 bits

Is it that my hardware is too low ? I'm playing on minimum on almost all graphical option, and even in 1600x900.
Or is there something to do ?

thanks in advance

try turning dx12 on i believe it gives your fps a boost

oh i can do that ? I thought Dx 12 was for Win10 only ?
I'm running on Dx 11

Turn on DX12, it gives a pretty heft performance boost for most players.
Disable volumetric rendering completely. This setting tanks your framerate, even on high-end systems.
Disable any overlays that are running in the background such as the Steam overlay or the Discord overlay.

Let me know whether this works! If it doesn't then I might have a few other things that you could try. :mhwgood:

Thanks !
just how can i turn DX 12 on ?
I have to dowload it somwhere ? I'm on windows 7

Windows 7 is unable to run DX12. I have a similar issue. Volumetric rendering turned off will help if you haven't already. Sorry I don't have more advice.

You can activate it in the game itself. It's in the graphics settings.
I just noticed that youre still on windows 7 though so I'm not sure whether it will work.
Is the setting available to you or is it greyed out?

No it's greyed out, only works under windows 10 !
I've disabled volumetric rendering and any overlay...but i can't tell if it works or not...it seems very unconsistent.
I've just tried a session with 1900x1080 resolution and high texture quality, no stutter at all.

But then i re-launched the game, did the same part again (arriving in Asteria) it stuttered.

My UC use is aroung 85%
My VRAM is only used at 40%
And my Ram at 50% (7Gb out of 16)

someone understands ? :D

Thanks for all your advices guys !

That's just not true as many people play this game completely stutter free, myself included.
There is absolutely no evidence to support this claim.

DirectX 12 is a MASSIVE fps increase for me from 11. Sorry that you can't use it.
Cerberus Jul 22, 2020 @ 8:12am
Oh wow, i just upgraded to wins10 from wins7 so i probably dont have dx12 turned on.. but i have had no issues so far. But hearing you guys made me wanna try it. Any drawbacks to activating dx12? 'Cause im the type that practices "if it works don't fix it"
dyne2alex Jul 22, 2020 @ 8:21am
maybe try running anti malware? adwcleaner for example. Stuttering sometimes and sometimes being completely fine doesn't sound like it'd be a game issue, more of a pc issue.
