maybe related to host using mods or a latency issue.
it could be easily fixed if capcom would use a combo for the dive instead of relying on a stupid if than else requirement
As others have said if your not "panic running" you won't dive..
1. You were not sprinting (it can be quite common if you are using a controller because it's a click on L3 which is the direction stick or holding on to R1 which requires hold on).
2. You were running in the wrong direction. It works only if you are running away. You can run diagonal left or right but the angle may make you be taken as running left or right by the system if it is done wrong.
3. You might have run off a ledge. A ledge can be as small as a slight elevation on the floor. Plenty of that in Elder Recess. If you can do a jump attack or see the falling animation even for a few second, it may have happened. It is the same principle as falling. You are free to be attacked.
4. You might have run a bit too far. If the running animation is a jog and not a sprinting with the arms and legs raised in an exaggerated manner, then you might have been a bit too far from the monster.
