Why do my SOS flares never get answered?

Every time i shoot a flare nobody ever arrives, but when i respond to the same quest its a full squad and they all fast. Is there a setting or something i need to turn on?

What monsters are you sosing for? LR, HR? maybe they are not fun or you do it during working hours? my sos's get answered only after I stick around for a while and my session has e.g. Tempered tag, so ppl know what to expect.

Unless it's something new, trendy or popular, you can't expect people to join you half the time, especially if the thing in question is also easy and not Tempered - such as a random Paolumu Investigation or whatever.

Unless I'm bored, I almost never search SOS with all settings at default and then just join whatever comes up, and even if I did that chances are I wouldn't opt to join some guys random Pink Rathian hunt but instead be more likely to join someones 5 box Tempered Savage Deviljho hunt, etc.

I mean if you're SOS flaring stuff like Alatreon or Tempered Gold Rathian and no one is showing up then yeah that's some bad luck right there, I think. Or maybe some weird connection issue.

High ranking is the higher player count, some people are hunting specific monsters. after the rewards time limit pass most wont join

Could be you're firing them too late. Rewards are decreased after about 10 minutes for people responding.

Either there are too many quests like the one you post going on at the same time, the quest isn't popular, another new and more popular quest is going on or just that there aren't many people available at the time.

I don't join when people have offensive names or when their rank is too low for the quest (Kulve, AT Nami, Alatreon and ect). Also, some assigned and optional quests are annoying and the reward is terrible for high MR players , golden egg? I got 22mil :/.

Have the same problem, I can join other player's sos but no one ever joined mine.
I dont have this problem before IB BTW, only after installed IB DLC

Only hunters near you can see your SOS flares.
SOS flares are region locked.

No one joins low rank/high rank quests much.

It just depends on your steam download region, not your real location. I live in Japan but can search for SOS groups in the US or Europe if I change my steam settings.

If you play the game in a region where it isn't very popular, you can try this to find more people in matchmaking.

It has nothing to do with popularity of the quest. I sometimes SOS real crap and people still join earlier or later. But if you SOS after 10mins don't expect people to join. Just change your download region on steam to UK and you will have tons of players joining your SOS no matter what quest you are on, trust me

Is it just a time zone issue or because there are more players using the UK Steam servers compared to, say US Washington DC?

I don't really understand this but when I had my country selected as the download region no one would ever join my SOS. I was just waiting even on very popular quests for about 30min and there were 0 people. I once waited until the 50min mark and as I could have expected, no one joined

I agree. Surely the new events have more players willing to join, but sometimes I SOS for fun as for example to complete some of the events (lets say hunt a flying wyvern and get whatever I have in investigations) and I always get people joining. Next time I will try to fire a SOS in the pinguin collector quest or similar, and see what happens XD

Yikes.FeelsBadMan. This is coming from a hunter that answers SOSes most of the time in my 1000+ hours. I always answer the ones thats past 20+mins cause I know they're struggling.
