Alatreon - Weapon Problems ? Playstyle request

4 days later, people still giving a lot of excuses for hunting Alatreon.
Tell you what I'm bored. Why don't you guys tell me what makes Alatreon hard for your weapon type, and tell me what's the problem with the hunt in entirety. Be it your playstyle, your trouble keeping up, can't manage the escaton weakening check, anything is fine. Since I got some spare time and I consider Alatreon hunt to be quiet fun, I might post a video regarding your trouble hunting him.

I just wish people could consistently not die to anything but his novas. He's not that scary aside from the novas, yet I almost always see 2 deaths before the first nova.

I also wish they would lock people out of using non-elemental weapons against him since they are just dragging the group down. Yeah I know, just play solo but sometimes you wanna play with others.

If what you've been doing so far is random SOS, you might want to join up Alatreon's session instead. That way, you can't judge your teammates whether if they looks promising or not. Or maybe you can talk into them to use more proper gear. It's bargaining time :)

I saw people who defeated him with dragon master touch LS build no crit element. I am using IG 840 dragon + crit element and no matter how much I hit him I couldn't supress his nova. Should not IG be more Elemental based weapon than LS? And I saw poeple using only 150-180 element with no crit element can supress him too , I just didn't understand .
I am 500+MR, and beated every tempered monster solo in less than 10 minute, I have every rare decos 3 times, every meta gear and all full augmentations. So I was considering myself as a decent hunter. But I just can't handle him. He is too hard for me . Tried 20+ times, but no. He broke my confidence as hunter :(. And yes I tried Kjar ice, fire too.

Have faith mate, using an elemental set is already a good start. Now the question remains, normally 840 dragon is very likely to do the weakening. Are you playing solo or multi? If it's solo then maybe focus doing more damage once he shift into dragon element. Since ice or fire active have only 1 star dragon weakness, this could be your best bet. Save any powerful mantle for dragon active. Once he shifted, stay on the ground while trying your best to hit as much as you can. I'm not sure how his element check works, but I think it calculate your elemental damage.
Either way, I'm gonna try IG set now and see how it goes. What armor are you using? Normally I only play full set armor, but if you're using Alatreon's glaive then I might use escadora too.

yeah solo and for dragon IG I use Velkana+safi set+ alatreon embrace insect glalive. For other elemental builds I use classic full safi + kjarr weapon ( DB and IG actually). I know I can beat him with Alatreon Dominator LBG but it feels kinda cheesy :)

Took quiet a time to test, but here it is.

I tested 3 different build for Insect Glaive to see how much elemental value is needed to weaken the Escaton Judgement. All of the equipment are underdog-kinda thing, nowhere close to META.
Here's the result :

First one is Ebony Odo full set beta with Ebony Glaive (total of 500 dragon). Tried 3 times, all failed the check.

Second one is Safi'jiiva armor full set with Alatreon Embrace (total of 750, 900 dragon with set bonus). Some attempt managed to make it, others dont. No other Raw or elemental skill is involved, aside from Crit Boost.

Third one is Namielle full set with its weapon (water 430) just like in the video. First attempt managed to make it, while the second and third didn't. Probably due to mounting on the first attempt.

None of the attempt use Critical Element

My conclusion is, for elemental IG (depend on the quest), use either FIRE or ICE element with a minimum elemental value of 400. The higher the better, with higher chance if you use Critical Element or more elemental boosting skill. Water n Thunder need more element to guarantee the weaknening. Dragon still work, but you need 750 or more to get it to work, or play a quiet aggresive playstyle. Or use Dragonproof mantle with also boost dragon element by 20%. As for the playstyle, standing still with IG is a death sentence, unless you see an opportunity. Fast hitting combo is safer and try to use blight resist againts alatreon (Or at least dragon resist skill).
Aside from that, learn more by hunting him.
