i think we get a voucher to change our genders and character look if we want but we have to choose, either change the hunter or the palico but we can't change our names sorry, for that you would need to use a mod.

I found a 'save editor' that allows me to change names. But question is, will it screw up my guild cards that I have already sent to people or will the guild card update my name or I have to send guild cards again?

I used cheat engine to enter the character editor and alter my character name some time ago. I didn't notice any issue with guild cards or anything else. I'm not sure if the save editor uses a different method though.

Backup your save file first. That way if you find it messes up your guild card or anything else you can easily restore your backup.

It won't "mess up" guild cards, but I am not sure whether or when the name on the card that other people have gets updated.

Afaik, other people will keep your old name on their guild card list. Last time I've bothered to test, the character name on the session list kept the same.

I just used a mod to do it. Screw capcom charging for appearance changes.

I don't mind paying for extra stuff, I refuse to pay for something as trivial as changing a character's appearance of name but hey, if you want to fuel corporate greed, go for it.

My understanding is that it wasn't initially allowed at all, but players were unhappy with the way characters wind up looking significantly different in-game from how they look in the editor, so they added the vouchers as a way to compromise. It doesn't really excuse charging money for them, though, especially on the PS4 where there are no options for modding.

At least give us 3 free vouchers for the 3 slots. Charging money for character edits just makes me appreciate Dragon's Dogma even more, that had an in-game unlock that allowed for unlimited character edits.

And this makes me afraid about if they'll charge for such trivial things when a possible Dragon's Dogma 2 come. I would be mad having to pay to make slightly changes to my pawn's face.

In this game I just want to change my character eyebrows (not the color) and I have to pay for it since my I've used one on my old file that got corrupted.

Playing the PC version, at least, you'll never have to, since we would get a variety of ways around it.
