Ambient occlusion on or off?
in my troubleshooting to get the right graphics settings I turned ambient occlusion off. I think I might want to turn it back on but I am not sure. I cant find any comparisons to it off low med high. So I figured Id ask how you guys feel about it? If you think its a must have at least on low or not.

Depends on your hardware power. AO isn't as hardware intensive as it used to be, but it can still save some frames when you turn it off if you're on lower end stuff.

Personally, I prefer having it on at all times, as it adds nice depth to shadowing.

have more than enough power. I know it sounds dumb but I lowered a few things to make my gpu just a little more quiet. mainly just lowering sh diffuse and volumetric rendering or whatever. yeah I think I might try a session quick with a o on see if i can see a difference.

you might wanna turn off volumetric rendering for more clarity and way less both GPU and CPU stress. that's the only thing that has big impact on my performance

I hate it in most games and turn it off. It looks so unnatural. Real ♥♥♥♥ doesn't look like that

Which sucks, because I think volumetric fog looks really nice in the game and makes the colors pop more.

It just sucks we can't use it unless you want your game running 10+ frames lower.

I Dont like the fog too much in this. Sometimes I do but it does just really white out the screen to me instead of actually making things looks foggy. Like I enjoyed the fog in the arkham asylum games.

Though I have read That the Ambient occlusion in this game looks really good. So im not sure.

In darker areas it looks good. In sunny/brighter it makes shadows where should be none.
