Spread Jewel vs Critical Boost Jewel
So, I have a dilemma where I can either have a spread jewel or a crit boost jewel in a free slot. While the spread jewel only increases 3% of the spread damage (as opposed to the 5% damage boost from all attack from a crit boost jewel), I've heard that the spread jewel also increases the number of spread arrow you shoot. Anyone can confirm if its true?

Don't see anything about that more arrows business, but then I don't use bow.

Can you give me the source? Or atleast screenshot proof of more arrow being shot. I'd like to be sure on this.

At 100% affinity, Crit boost 1 is actually a 4% damage increase over no crit boost.

I think you might be misinformed, or that you misunderstood whoever told you that.

The spread jewel gives you the spread/power shot skill. For a bow user, the spread enhancement doesn't do anything for it IIRC and is only useful for heavy bowguns, however, the power shot adds an extra power shot to your bow combos. As you should already know with the bow, when you fire the first shot with your bow, you fire one arrow, then two arrows on your second shot, then three on your third shot, and then it resets to firing one arrow and so on. With the spread/power shot skill from the spread jewel, it gives you an additional fourth shot - firing three arrows again like the third shot.

Overall, you will get more damage done with the spread jewel than the extra 5% critical boost.

That's mighty bow.
Plus you're talking about the normal shots of the bow. Power shots are the multiple arrows spreading horizontally.
Ah, now you've gone and deleted it, I look like an idiot talking alone!

Yeah I just realised and ended up misinforming instead lmao.

Power is usually the better option. Crit boost is nice, but can be sacrificed for an extra arrow on your power shot (right MB). This can easily give you more damage as this is another shot that can crit and crit with element too if you build that way.

Crit boost is a good skill there is no doubt about that, but Spread/Power shot will take priority if you can only use one or the other.

Again though, it depends on your build too. If you're using the Crit Draw Dragon Piercer only build then Crit Boost will be the better option since you wont be using Power shot.

A common misconception is that Normal/Power decos effect the coats. They don't, at least not directly. Normal gives you a 7-10% (not sure, i'veh eard both) flat damage increase to your Normal Shot (Left MB) While Power gives you one additional arrow on your power shot (right mouse button). It doesn't boost the coatings, and you can use Power coating and still get the flat boost of Normal shot.

At least based on everything I've read/looked into when trying to learn my weapon and while playing with it I see more damage from Power shot than I do from Normal. In fact I don't even gem a normal, i just use the food skill for Feyline Sharpshooter which gives a smaller boost thatn the deco but still a good one.
