Karma lbg question
So im trying to decide if masters charm for critical eye 3 would be better then a attack charm damage wise, my current build is karma, dragonking eyepatch, dober mail b, zorah claws b, nergigante coil b, diablos nero greaves b, masters charm 3. this gives me 5 attack boost, critical eye 3, weakness exploit 3, health boost 1 from gem, normal shots 1, piercing shots 1, free ele/ammo up 1, critical boost 1, maximum might 1. or maybe not even a damage charm, could I used it better elsewhere? im getting +10% affinity off the charm, my karma is at 65% exluding when I hit weak spots, which its prolly closer to 100% then. idk if the 10% affinity is worth not using another charm and dropping the affinity down to 55%

I actually got the pierce jewel, and spread, need to use armor for normal shots. I get ya though, since I'm no longer using spread, I could prolly drop reload, and switch em to close range to Jack up my damage, thoughts?


Hmm, since pierce goes on optimally for more range than normalshot i recommend trying long range mods on it as well and see how well it works with pierce. Since you can make different loadouts for the same weapon and with different mods i recommend doing a loadout with 3 long range and one with 3 close range and check how well they perform.

I should also state the lbg is augmented for affinity

Given karma has 30% affinity on its own i'd augment it for damage or health. I'd combine maximum might (3 levels, each level gives 10% affinity when stamina is full) and weakness exploit to get the remaining affinity to 100, and then get attack skills or critical boost skills. 3 levels of weakness exploit and two levels on maximum might should cap 100% affinity on that lbg.

That would put it at 100, but only with affinity augment, correct me if I'm wrong but 30 base, 30 from maximum, and crit boost goes to 30%, so 90, but switching gear I'd prolly lose my normal shots, and possibly even my pierce?

Weakness exploit 3 gives 50% affinity when you hit a monster part that is weak to the damage you're dealing. 2 levels of maximum might would give you 20% affinity. 50 + 30 + 20 = 100

All that without affinity augment.

Critical boost increases the damage of your crit hits, each level by 5%.

Its really grindy but what i'm using for karma is:

Dragon King Eyepatch -> critical jewel 2 (critical boost)

Dober mail B -> Forceshot Jewel (normal shot)

Kaiser Vambraces B -> Critical Jewel 2 (critical boost)

Nergigante coil B -> Critical Jewel 2 (critical boost)

Kirin Leg Guard -> Attack jewel 1 and trueshot jewel 1.

Karma lgb -> Trueshot jewel 1.

Mighty Charm 2.


This gives me:

Attack skill 5

Critical boost 3

Weakness exploit 3

free elem/ammo up 2

Special ammo boost 2 (increases wyvernblast damage, idk if its better than attack gems for overal dps but i can't test since i only have 1 attack gem)

Maximum might 2

Normal shots.

Something interesting for you to consider is using equipment loadouts (there is item pouch loadout and equipment). You can actually use loadouts to change bowgun mods and equipment decorations while you're hunting on the camps.

edit: So you can make a loadout with forceshot gem and one with pierce gem. And switch on the camp as you see fit.

are you sure you're using karma????
cause my pierce only do 10 or 15 a hit :steamsad:

I do use em, I use duals, greatsword ect, but I always use fast reload 3 on karma, granted I gotta go see if I can drop one for the rounds I use. I just use norm 2 and pierce 1, and sleep ect ect for cc. Should I be using normal shots 1? I only have the one point in it from grieves, but it only has 1 point, no?

Karma normalshots 1 would hit like regular normalshots 2 without rapidfire. I'd say use that when you can't hit the enemy weakpoint, like nergigante spikes before he actually grows them, since its infinite i nail those horns with them before he grows the spikes, then i go normal 2 on the spikes.

I started with lbg , I've been using reload since the beginning, I'm hr 70 now. So I've never revisited that
