fastest way to gain research points?

before i never had any issue with have points but now that ive hit end game and upgrading lots of gear and using melder for items like dung pods im running extremely low. ive seen videos about farming wyvern eggs but is there a less mind numbing way to earn them fast and effectivly?

Elder recess catch all of the toads and get the gathering points z=1.5k points

Its what ive been doing if I need points

Go to an investigation for tempered nergigante with a ghillie suit, and all the gathering skills you can get. Put on ghillie suit and pick up all the tracks, spikes, and whatnot for tempered investigations.

Once you have gathered all the nergy stuff, go away and stuff your ghillie suit. Now gather EVERYTHING (especially ambers for research points). Also advised to get your net and fish. There's a spot with platinum fish near the area with eruptin magma.

When your ghillie suit is ready again go to nergigante with it on and rinse and repeat. You now have alot of research points, stuff for selling/melding, and possibly a 4-blue slot tempered investigation.

Flourishing gathering point farming is your best bet

I can't remember the skill, but I think there's a way to gain double items from collection points like mushroom colonies, flower beds, beryl/amber deposits, etc, along with the geologist skill to gather an extra time. Toss in master gatherer, pick a map with flourishing perk, a food buff for faster gathering respawns, armor skill for increased rare node respawns, and run around a map just picking up all of these things. You can gain hundreds of points from a single node, and gain thousands of points in mere minutes if you find a good rotation.

I've been spending points on literally everything that will let me since the start and I'm sitting on a stack of 90k points.

id totaly do this but i dont have any tempered elder dragon investigations. ive heard this works well with blos and black blos since they stay in the same area too

You can do it with several monsters, or go for the optional missions that include tempered stuff and farm it there (or join other groups and hope you get one by chance).

Any location and any quest works. I've seen videos and posts on reddit that Kirin is the best tempered elder for tempered quest farming, because he isn't hostile on sight and drops tracks faster than nergigante (with the disadvantage that he travels a greater range than nergy).

Just tested it in game only work for consumable/crafting mushrooms and does not work for flower beds and rare mushroom colonies

i just did so myself. went to the spot right next to base 17 in acient forest and got 2 drops for all gathers there.

yeah. but its way faster to do gathering trips. while u might be able to get like 500ish points for a caputre on a top tier monster ull still get more points gathering unless u have a kick ass group that can down the monster in like 3-4 minutes. testing out how well i can gather points after i finish a "gathering" build. with just botanist 4 i got 1500 points in around 5 minutes gathering flowers and special mushrroms.

On top of the suggestions already:

Bounties, bounties, bounties.

Most of the time you'll be able to pay for your soft soil, tailriders and argosy just by grabbing as many bounties as you can that give a solid payout.

Equip all those collect skill especially Geologist. Also if there is quest with extra blue stone(i don't know what to call that in english sry) probably can get more pts.
