Devil Jho weapons
Are devil jho weapons worth using? They have really high raw damage but the -30% affinity really impacts the damage. Maybe they can be viable when you have 2 affinity augmentation on them?

affinity is just crit chance. you can nigate it with armor skills and augments. so yes, jho weapons are some of the best in the game.

ok thanks, so i guess its better augmenting raw damage on them

unfortunatly Jho weapons dont get anything from no elemental boost deco which is a big deal.

Ofc it doesn't.... it doesn't have a locked element? Pretty sure everyone knows at this point how to tell if an element is locked or not and he never said anything about using Elementless to begin with.

I like the Lance and Greatsword, everything else isn't really that great, from what I've seen. Considered making the HBG, but almost everything has slow reload, which makes it unsuitable for my tanky shooter build.
The -30% affinity can be negated simply with 2 levels of Weakness Exploit. Add in some augments and other affinity boosting skills (Maximum Might, Critical Eye etc) and you'll be back doing crits with weapons that have high raw dmg, often high elemental dmg, high elderseal and significant white sharpness.

hunting horn is nice
only thing that bothers me is the low sharpness and no gem slot on the weapons

In general, raw is more important than affinity.
The only exception would be crit boost builds, but the difference is so tiny, it's really not worth talking about. Just make sure to get white sharpness and reduce the negative affinity as much as possible.
I mainly use gunlances which have really low affinity, do i need handicraft to get white affinity?

The HBG was probably best for cluster/sticky build atm. Wasting my augments on zorah dam..
Uh, do you mean affinity or sharpness? Affinity can be boosted with skills like the ones I mentioned, while sharpness requires Handicraft (+ stuff like Protective Polish if you want to keep it for longer).

the gunlance is pretty useless with lvl3 shelling

There's only one gunlance with lvl 4 shelling so i dont get much choice unless i want to do the full burst build

Best dragon damage weapons in the game for sure, plus white sharpness with Handicraft, and high elder seal. To bad the armor set sucks.

it's a long shot anyway, you don't really do full burst with long.

Not true, negative affinity can make you do anti-crits that do like 70% damage opposed to the full amount. A weapon with high negative affinity can hurt your DPS, especially if it has yellow sharpness due to the low sharpness modifier. That really will rape your DPS if it combines into one massive storm. Negative affinity isn't simply a lower chance of doing crits, it's a chance to do a feeble hit and when your affinity is in the negative, you will NEVER crit in addition to having the chance to do a feeble hit.

That being said, yes, they're viable. I especially like the classic design of the gear, it stands out among the generic looking gear World tends to have otherwise. Considering World has no purple sharpness and is VERY stingy with white, Deviljho weapons are indeed pretty viable right now. Just try to negate that neg-affinity if you can.

Affinity matters most on weapons that hit often like DB's and SnS or weapons that don't hit often but hit very hard when they do like GS. You can easily counterbalance the negative affinity of the Jho weapons because it isn't too bad, at least in comparison to some weapons in other games where I've seen negative affinity hit 70-80%. But Affinity is important and raw doesn't outweigh it 100% of the time, stating so is objectively wrong, GS builds especially can be bolstered immensely by critical hits which affinity does nothing but support when paired with skills like crit draw and such.
