Recommended Armor for HR 13 LongSword User?
So I have killed many different monsters and unlocked their armors and I still don't know what is the best armor for my loadout. I swap between a Thunder Longsword and Water Longsword depending on what the monster is weakened to. Should I just stick to one primary longsword or have multiple different elements? Which Longsword and Armor would you recommend for a HR 13 Longsword User? Every piece of information is appreciated!

Until you unlock every armor set and start getting the decorations needed to fine tune your set up, you can't go wrong with just universally useful skills from armor and charms.

For example, red Rathaolos Chest and Boots for Critical Element set bonus and 3 Exploit weakness. You can use this on basically any set up that uses an Elemental weapon, or even just plain ole Normal weapons as it's a cheap source of Weakness Exploit.

This leaves you with 3 other armor pieces to work with. Universally useful skills tend to be defense oriented like Health boost, Divine Blessing, and Earplugs.

I used Legiana Helmet and Gloves for the 2 set along with Divine Blessing and Jump boost skills until I was able to better fine tune my armor set. Legs were Odagaron, since Critical Eye is nice and Weeb Ribbons are a bonus. Sprinkle in some decorations of your choice and as a starter set it'll be more than enough, imo.

As a Longsword user, Handicraft is a valuable skill in most cases, as it extends sharpness and often pushes you into white for a 10% bonus over blue. Maximum Might is an effective Affinity boost as your stamina consumption is solely on non-weapon related uses.

Attack boost is universally good, but investing beyond Rank 4 depends on the person as rank 4 is the largest gain (+5% bonus affinity)

Additionally, Longsword's mechanic doesn't boost elemental damage, so much higher Normal damage rating is preferred, though beyond maximum attack builds you probably won't notice a huge difference now.

Handicraft skill. All attack boosting skills.

Thunder LS is great except for Kirin.

I upgraded my water and lightning to rarity 6. Still using them since you get decorations that boost the elemental damage type, as well as augments on your weapons. They're not the best of the best, but they are still viable to do all the content with. Always switch to the weapon that has the best chance of success vs the opponent. Same for equipping the best armor/resistances.

What quest are you at again with HR13? I remember on Hight Rank starting with a full set of Bone Armor again. Following the same upgrade path as on Low Rank. As soon as I could go to Elder's Recess went into Expedition and do some mining farm runs. Crafted boots/hands of the Ingot set. Grabbed head and chest from Rathalos. Lumu waist and Divine Blessing charm. Later switched the Lumu waist for Nergigante's Coil. Safari Raiders will find cloth that can be used to craft Death Stench Heel. Ingot hands replaced by Teostra's, Xeno-Jiva's or Vaal Hazak's gloves.

HR13 is the top before the last boss fight.
After last boss fight you gain HR25-29.

Thanks, I'll keep this in mind!
