Alatreon Weapons
What do you think about the Alatreon Weapons so far? Do they serve a purpose and are worth farming?

longsword looks fabulous, im using it as layered rn coz stats are lacking

they are slightly useful againist alatreon himself. thats about it sadly. only for layered. since you need to craft both levels of the actual weapon to gain access to the layer. for no real reason than you rip you off a 2nd mantle basically.

GS is the most badass looking thing I've ever seen.

The weapon skins look cool and the hbg can shoot all 5 elements with a relatively high raw. I mean, it's still elemental hbg though.

I haven't really messed with the other weapon types yet since I'm still hoarding mats after crafting the armor and gun.

The GS, LBG, and LS are absolutely gorgeous! I think the bow is actually pretty decent too.

I don't think Dragon element has ever been useful, really. The poor decoration slots and average raw doesn't really make the copious amount of Purple sharpness they have stand up to much, in my eyes. "Low" Elderseal is really the icing on the cake for me chucking it into the item box and never using it.

I was able to hit 1000 Dragon elemental damage on the Hammer by giving it one Element Up augment and taking Dragon Attack 6 alongside it, but uh yeah.

Seems like they're only really good for wrecking Alatreon himself with, anything else weak to Dragon is either not enough of a threat to warrant building a counter set for, or can be handled with other elemental stuff without much issue anyway.

Some of them have interesting properties, though. For example, it's another Wide 7 Gunlance with lots of sharpness which can somewhat reduce the need for Razor Sharp or Protective Polish - and apparently it has fully outclassed the Safi Awfulshot LBG in terms of elemental damage, but not Sticky? Etc.

Why do the Alatreon weapons match Vaal Hazaks gear (when tinted pale pink, of course) more so than his own armour set, lol. Unpopular opinion maybe, but I think his weapons look garbage. I don't like the colour scheme or the unruly spiky nature of them, myself.

Also if you're interested in disappointment someone already data mined the Frozen Barioth stuff and made an imgur post about it, which you can see here:

Alatreon light bowgun looks very interesting with being able to rapid fire all the elemental ammo with decent clip size and recoil. Handy for monsters with switching resistances that would otherwise be a huge pain to deal with for elemental LBG such as Lavasioth, Kulve or in theory Alatreon himself. Although I suspect you'd just run out of ammo and end up having to club it to death.

Also the first bowgun with rapid fire Dragon S, which has got to be worth something.

The rest are good for sure but the best option when Safi and Kjarr weapons are available? Doubt it honestly.

I don't play bowgun because the cheese associated with both versions is too embarrassing to me, but the LBG looks good. Anything that isn't sticky or spread is a plus in my books.

I crafted the LBG first. Considering it can use fire and ice ammo and you can safely build a full safi set with ice and fire atk 6 I highly recommend it. Even more if you don't want to chase him around or not lose dmg when it flies (and he runs and flies really a lot). The only downsides? No status ammo at all and a slightly low raw dmg.
