the weapons looks super cool, and that armor will definitely fit into some mixed sets (that chest looks amazing)
I don't think it feels great as you said, it feels like ♥♥♥♥♥ to get a bunch of randoms because you cannot strategise properly with randoms and you cannot really work together.
Nobody wants an easy game, but ever since Iceborne came out, this inflation in stupid ways of adding difficulty is super frustrating (please see Rajang).
I was really looking forward to playing this update, honestly I am already fed up and annoyed.
Damaging the horns, even with randoms, seemed to break them fairly easily. BUT, as you said, the elemental damage needed to trigger the "survivable" Nova definitely needs to be adjusted. I get Capcom wanting to create an Elder Dragon fight that requires you to come prepared, but the game is also about skill and hunting how YOU want to hunt. I shouldn't be forced to build a particular Meta Set w/ a Specific item loadout and abandon anyone not doing the same.
i got my butt handed to me more than 10 times and i only beat him like 3 times but i got better with each failure, i do admit that his armor and some of his weapons are a disappointment i expected something WAY better from a black dragon but other than that just fight him, its a new monster so why not do what monster hunter players do and just.. fight monsters.
Maybe it wasn't clearly stated, so my apologies. My main point is that the effort of defeating Alatreon isn't sufficiently rewarded for a hunter to "GIT GUD". The mission has been made as something you do once for bragging rights, and only continue doing until it gets boring.
question is how many you get per capture.
As someone who has been playing since the original release back on PS2, I agree with your assessment.
If you're really a seasoned hunter, then you'd know to switch your weapons to fit the monster.
Given the previous event quests, I'd probably expect between 1 to 3 tickets. Hopefully low drop rate decorations (Ex: Guard up and Bow Charge Plus) get added to the pool of possible drops. I'm not holding my breath, though.
Yet you refuse to try to adapt, instead whining to others.
