how to get Guiding Reef Dragonbone
I've spent 2 hours in the guiding lands with giant bone piles in the coral area, and not gotten a single giant bonepile or the Guiding Reef Dragonbone. Is there any way to get it faster, or do I just have to waste another 2 hours before it finally feels like showing up?

I’m confused has the giant bone pile spawned or not? It’s a guaranteed loot from the coral giant bone pile.

They CAN spawn, but none have. For 2 whole hours I have not gotten a single giant bone pile despite the fact they can

you know you can check your resource levels by opening your map and pressing a button right? then you get to see progress bars for it per region.

only gather spots in the coral part of the guiding lands count for this remember.

it can also drop randomly from red bonepiles in corelregion. doesnt have to be giant one. just use the fuel farming trick and youll swim in these in no time. but you dont need many of em to begin with.

They do spawn. There is an experience bar for each resource. If you want it to go faster make yourself a gathering set. You mostly want max geology and I think it’s master gatherer (there are 2 skills I forget which does which - but you would want the one that has an increased chance at rare materials)

Are you checking the whole area or just the places you know the normal nodes spawn at?

I know the giant bone and ore for coral can spawn down in the little fishing area with the cats

They spawn in the red circle locations.
Make sure progress bar is full. Eat for the felyne skill Felyne Harvester. It makes bone piles and ore veins respawn faster.

Once you reach the limit for a zone you will get a message that a giant ressource has spawned and until you find it you will have a little '' ! '' next to the zone material on your map tab.

It's not like it's chance based. It spawns at very specific thresholds, the game even notifies you when one spawns.

It's also possible to get guiding bones from regular bonepiles though the chance is lower.
