How do you side step with LS (with keyboard and mouse)

I went through the entirety of Iceborne without knowing how todo it and only found out it was a thing after watching a speedrunning video and seeing them do it, so how do you do it???

you can only do it after an attack. just watch the button guide (top right of screen) for "foresight slash" and do the inputs

Foresight slash is the counter with long invincibility frames that costs spirit gauge. It sounds like you're talking about the "fade slash" to me. I have no idea what the attack inputs are with keyboard and mouse, but the fade slash should be [attack key 1] + [attack key 2] with a side directional input. (With Xbox controller, the input for fade slash is Y+B while holding the left stick to the left or right.) You can do the fade slash as an initial attack; it doesn't have to be a follow up to another basic attack.

I wonder what sidestep you are talking about. Because after I saw your post, I tried googling LS sidestepping and found this video: https://youtu.be/B3rrnQ1zpGs

I don't understand what's going on at the 0:07, but it looks like a sidestep, and I've never seen that one before.
If that's not a mod, then how do you do it?

Looks to me like he gets pushed by the tail. The move he does is the normal first spirit slash.
