Safi/Alatreon theory

Its obvious that Alatreon came to the new world due to our fight with Safi. If we slay Alatreon, well all that energy had gotta go somewhere. What if another Safi absorbs it an becomes Arch Tempered, which then attracts the attention of the Fatalis. We're in the perfect place to revamp the Fatalis fight to actually be fun and better reflect his lore, and with a black dragon already coming its not TOO far out there that maybe they've been working on a better Fatalis.
Dire Miralis on the other hand might not be so likely since he's so tied to water combat.

Black Dragons, or a Dangerous First Class Monster is any monster who's presence alone could end civilizations. There are 5 of them in the entire series, 2 of which people don't consider official because they're from MH Frontier and MH Online. The three that are official are Fatalis (and his variants/sub species), Alatreon, and Dire Miralis. Black Dragons are considered Elder Dragons, but are also a step above them in esteem and power.

all the black dragons are here. it's also worth to mention that shantien is known to fight dishufiora and is known as his mortal ennemy, wich means shantien is probably black dragon level too.

I've considered the possibility that the jivas are capcom's new take on the EDW and alatreon, and monster that tries to stay away from everything, came to check out safi's lair because it felt the energy being released and recognized it as belonging to the thing that kicked off the dragon war.

It seems plausible to me at least since the EDW was said to be made from killing a lot of elder dragons and that is exactly how xeno was formed, by absorbing the bio energy from all the elder dragons that died in the new world.

i know it might be a drastic opinion, but i want fatalis to be challenge for only the most experienced players, something like any attack deals atleast 140 DMG with 1000 defense, like ffs its fatalis it should be near to impossible to kill in my opinion, especially without a gear from other black dragons/tempered elders. (and i would like to see those 100HP deeps players whining he one shots them with every attack, like they most of the time do (not counting actuall top players who can manage with 100)

the devs will definitely bring fatalis up to his legendary expectations if they add him to world. They're adding him after alatreon, and they know that each new monster they add has to be crazier and more dangerous than the last.

As is, fatalis is only hyped up because "he's a black dragon!!!" and "bro he killed the whole kingdom that one time!" while being a rinky-dink sluggish nerd in his actual fights, one that safi'jiiva could clearly wipe the floor with.

if fatalis come after this what monster for final title update? or 5th title update is the last? i doubt yian kut ku will come after alatreon/frostfang

i dont understand why they put frostfang barioth at august. that make the time for next title update is around sept or latter.

They probably need some padding at the moment so they can actually develop more content. They likely weren't getting very much work done during the quarantine so they're trying to stretch what they had mostly done out while they get back into the swing of things.

Rather, I'd have them announce Fatalis. Hype the heck out of it with trailers and all out. Then we get into the mission, Fatalis shows up. Fight it for a bit. Then, SURPRISE, ablack dragon Safi just shows up completely unnannounced, wrecks Fatalis, and you switch over to fighting it instead!

Though I feel like a bunch of OG hunters might be upset seeing Fatalis wrecked like that. Kinda like they're salty about Nergigante punting Rajang across the floor in their turf wars.

Still trying to figure out how there could be a safi, and then a black dragon safi that some folks are suggesting. If safi isnt a black dragon, there there is no "black dragon safi".

Safi grew in power the longer it was let to absorb power. If it can do this ad infinitum it would reach a point where it could be considered a black dragon threat.
I personally wasn't thinking of a black dragon Safi, just a tie in to explain a reason he becomes AT and to revamp a fight that desperately needs it. I'd perfer Safi to be classified as a red dragon (like the name of his quest) and see other future monsters get the same classification. It could be reserved for extremely powerful elder dragons that's very existence is harmful to everything around it but is not powerful enough to be black dragon.
