MR Kirin Special Quest

Hello fellow Hunters, for the first time i got no clue what to do. MR Kirin is too much for me. My weapon only does damage to its head but i can rarely reach it because it keeps jumping around and nearly oneshots me with one of the lightning strikes. In addition my claw doesnt seem to have any effect on the monster so i cant even ram it into the wall.
So my question is do you have any tips for me?
Btw i use the Vipertooth 2 Longsword if that is important.

Find a moment to claw and weaken the body, and then you just fight it as normal. With the clutch claw added to the game, Kirin has never been easier.

Reading titles correctly might help....
anyway, you can only tenderize Kirin in the special assignment quest, since he is permanently enraged, and you can't wallbang enraged monsters

edit : also AFAIK the Kirin in this quest has a health and damage modifier, he has less health but does more damage than a "normal" MR Kirin

Suzaku! I feel like you dont read it thoroughly! OP was talking about the one before Rajang!

Eh, Kirin's actually a fun fight once you know how to punish him; since he's such a glasscannon.

(I do think Dual Blades or SnS have it harder since their reach is so short, which makes it harder to reach his horn)

simply fire a sos flare if it is too hard or post your session id if you are looking for help
easiest way to handle it is using sticky gun for nonstop knock outs
check out guns which have good ammo numbers for sticky 3, if i remember correctly zorah,shara, tigrex, anjanath or palace offered some guns for low tier sticky builds
zorah armor for low tier artillery secret if you have no access to the raging brachy armor
don't miss to eat for felyne bombardier(4 times yellow meat with a voucher) to get that tiny extra dmg on sticky and cluster,

in my case, ls is hard against kirin ( i cant timing foresight that thunder ). Minds eye/ballistic skill help in this fight.

remember this,
-the effect from thunderblight is paralysis and you stunned faster, so bring nullbery.
-since he is always in enrage state you will find it harder to find opening, flinch shot is not available
-aim for the head (if you able to aim head, impact mantle help against kirin)
-minds eye/ballistic (prevent bounce/deflect on you attack for melee)
-cheese it, sticky, draw gs/frostcraft gs ( i use frostcraft gs ), bow.
