More or likely, but imho, it's not worth it since DB needs the double twirl in order to get the claw

To be a little more exact than Jack above me the initial claw uppercut get’s the part 50% of the way to tenderized. So it does just as much as a light weapon tenderize. I believe that the dual blades move works the exact same way as well. Lastly I think there’s a chart somewhere showing actual points of tenderize damage certain attacks do, and I think I remember seeing that each claw smack whilst grappled does 20.

So basically you uppercut, then smack three times to tenderize and enrage? The enrage for Agitator builds.

The dual blades tenderize attack from the spinning combo is actually incredibly short and puts you a safe distance from the monster that is far enough not to get hit by a follow up but close enough you can easily get back in one evade shot. So it's probably not worth doing for DB

i had some negative experience when it comes to tenderizing in the past. it happens way too often that you do the fancy claw attacks, but bodyparts won't be tenderized.

The DB version is kind of jank, the startup is really long since you need to do spend time doing the slow double whirl first, and then you also have to land the claw attack followup that has such a short range your hunter needs to be literally inside the body part you're trying to tenderize. And when it lands, you're flying backwards miles away from the monster.

Plus it can sometimes just not work, like I just tried to do it on Zino's tail, but Zino was getting up as I did it and the tail hitbox shrunk and stretched and moved around so the full combo of the tenderize attack didn't land, so it just accomplished nothing but me wasting time doing garbage damage. Should've just done normie combos instead of bothering with the tenderize at all there.

It's there, but it's not exactly amazing. Just pray the bigger weapon bros of the team handle the tendie business.
