Well Barioth it's just an ice nargacuga with a bit of tigrex. It has huge hitboxes and the only reliable way to dodge is by exploiting the i-frames, if you are struggling with those, practice first with the temporal mantle so you can get the timing of the attacks as you auto-dodge. Once you think you have the timing right change to the evasion mantle since it enhances your roll and it increases your attack if you dodge perfectly, and if you are still having trouble, get a lot of evasion skills so its even easier.

Or you could just bring a lance, a friend tells me he has no problem hunting tigrexes and barioth, just be careful with the ice tornado.

Barioth is the only monster I really hate but here is what you should do;

If you like your current weapon, you don't need to change it. Changing to a new weapon would be worse, you have to learn that weapon etc so don't.

Socket 3 ice resist if you have the decos. If not, you can craft ice resist armor instead. This will help a ton.

Use healt boost decos, you can craft armor with hp boost if you don't have the decos. Max level 3.

Focus on his wings. When you break his wings, he will slip when he charge and this will give you a few seconds opening for some dps.

Don't follow him when he run away from you. He will charge you till you get yo him anyways, so its a time waste. Just wait for his charge and dodge then dps.

Good luck and like others say, don't give up. Or wait till you cool down and do it at a later time.

Well, in Iceborne, Barioth was really big difficulty spike at the beginning of dlc (at least for me)- I managed to beat him with trusty lance- maybe try it if You didn't already- alco, if You struggle with some monster don't shy away to ask for help other hunter- their will be happy to give a hand xD But i understand if You want to experience content prowided by expansion solo- it's totaly doable. If You need some tips or coop partner, I'm happy to lend my weapon xD

Dont give up you can do this. Play extra careful since the guy REALLY likes to move. Best to look for chance to counter rather than be aggressive against the guy. Since he's damn fast just wait for moments when he stumbles near you with his attacks to get in hits. Brief moments where he visibly starts to tire out are the best moments to give it your all and once he starts to tire you'll be getting more and more chance to hit him .

Also watch out for Nargacuga later... i had more trouble with that guy than Barioth.

This is one of my favorite YouTubers and the one thing that really made a difference for me is the breaking the wings early in the fight. I believe that same concept applies to Nargacuga and Tigrex.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥! Wtf is that clutch shot crazyness at the beginning of the actual fight (after he's done explaining everything)?! All I've ever done is one attack, and it sure as hell doesn't flinch him all crazy like that.

On a side note: am I bad for always wanting a shield since I can't dodge for ♥♥♥♥? I find the movement way too slow/sluggish for it so I tried to get decent at cb-guard-point-ing instead.
