You are a founder right? Did phoenix labs let you decide that decision, going to epic, or was it only their decision?

Hello,
I really like this kind of games & I really do want to support it, but until this game comes to Steam. I collect games on Steam & I wish you guys would bring it later anytime soon.
And also can you guys please kick players who’s idling/afk for some period of time, so we don’t need to wait for a really long time to play it again.
Thank you!

Hi there!
Thanks for reaching out to us and for your interest in Dauntless. Being a small team of developers, focus is important to us. Right now we are focusing on PC as our primary platform so we can make Dauntless the best game it can be. Once we nail down the PC experience, then we will consider expanding to Steam or consoles, so be sure to stay tuned!
Also, thanks for sharing these observations with us concerning idle players!
I will gladly forward your input to the development team.
If you haven't done so already, I also recommend posting your observations on the community forums, which can be accessed by logging in on www.playdauntless.com and navigating to https://forums.playdauntless.com/.
You may be able to stir up a discussion with other players, which is very handy for gauging everyone's thoughts and opinions on the game. It's also easier for us to see a bunch of player feedback all in one place!
Please let us know if you have any more questions in the future.
All the best,
Phoenix Labs
@garuda: we can only hope they expand to steam, its not like they lose profits (unless steam wallet sales also count towards that.) and in the end, its just market expansion at that point.
i'll be holding off on linking my account to anything and watching this, but its a huge disappointment that epic was their first choice.
Dude what is even the purpose or meaning of being a "founder" then in the first place. What a huge insult to all people who choosed to support this game as founder imo. They could have just called it supporter but founder means for me something different. You guys literally build the foundation with them and they dont let you engage into participating into huge decisions even a bit. Wow thats really sad. *Insert sad ost right here*
i mean if epic came out with a games platform, that functioned near identicle to steam, didnt have random issue after random issue with basic store front functionality being missing or interpereted as potential sales fraud by credit card companies, then yeah i'd probably not even care.
the fact the platform is so badly designed, and devs are flocking to it for the only fact they take 18% less of the profit than steam, shows epic knows how to profit off desperation of other developers.
I couldn't care less for a game that wasn't on Steam in the first place.
but no, it took a complete communist turn and went to chinas big boys first.
Played the game for 2 days then never touched it again, it just didn't had any impact whatsoever
in how any weapon felt, no good sound effects, swinging a sword felt like mehhh, and basic as ♥♥♥♥ combos.
Not to mention how lackluster crafting felt, graphically didn't expect much from it but the animations and models were ugly looking, cartoonish graphics doesn't mean you should put no effort into making the game look good.
The fact that the game was free to play was a red flag cause you know they would be selling cosmetics and probably made the best looking gear purchasable in the store, no idea what they went with now cause i haven't checked back on the game, but since they sold to Epic i guess they made some money to keep the game updated for a while but problably still gonna sell cosmetics.
The game was already considered just a MH wannabe before MHW even come out, and now when MHW is available why would you want a subpar product?
"But heyyy it's free" Doesn't really work when most people don't want anything to do with the Epic Store. The playerbase they could've had is turned off by the Epic store, another part of those potential players got the MH they wanted and they won't bother with Dauntless anymore.
The game tried to bank on players that had a MH void to fill, now that is filled so why should they bother?
And maybe they lose even some of the founders support? Game is dead on arrival.
Dauntless, go home and be a family man.
Maybe next year! hahaha.
