So dauntless turned into epic games store trash (Lock or Move)
i mean, you CAN connect your founder account to PS4 or Xbone and there is cross play, but i think the majority reason to play it on PC over those two is keyboard and mouse control options, and the fact my PC could eat both of those systems combined and still have power to game now.

yeah im a bitter founder, lets see some salt emotes that always makes things better.

no i say, i call on ANYONE who was a founder, get ahold of tehm and demand a refund for either

A. forcing us into a position where we have to download another launcher for their game, that is FREE TO PLAY AND COULD LITERALLY BE HOSTED ANYWHERE TO ZERO DETRIMENT ON PROFITS

B. making us have to own a console to avoid the cancerous epic games launcher, which lets face it, this game was conceived before this launcher was a thing. on that premise, all the userbase was expecting either a off platform launch using their own launcher specifically for the game like it has up to this point, or a steam release. hell, they coulda released through GoG for all i care.

if a mod moves this to trololo so be it, but i felt it had to be said somewhere.

Looks like some gimpy hybrid of MH with Torchlight graphics(Ew.)

Never heard of it, I probably wouldn't have messed with it in the first place but now that it's on Epic I'm certainly going to avoid it. Still having fun with World without Iceborne so my MH appetite will be whetted for a long time.

Sorry this happened though TC, while I don't have any interest in Dauntless Epic's shennanigans have bugged me in other regards so I can empathize.
yeah the art style was nothing amazing, but its combat mechanics were neat, it was a mix of something like MMO raid mechanics and monster hunter fight mechanics.

its kinda like if Tera was less Lolicon/furcon and the focus was killing 1 target, not it and anything else its spawns all the time.

You are a founder right? Did phoenix labs let you decide that decision, going to epic, or was it only their decision?

LOL. I've sent the developers a message and ask them if they can add this game to Steam when it's still at beta stage so I can be a part of those who supported this game. But this is their answer

Hello,

I really like this kind of games & I really do want to support it, but until this game comes to Steam. I collect games on Steam & I wish you guys would bring it later anytime soon.

And also can you guys please kick players who’s idling/afk for some period of time, so we don’t need to wait for a really long time to play it again.

Thank you!

Hi there!

Thanks for reaching out to us and for your interest in Dauntless. Being a small team of developers, focus is important to us. Right now we are focusing on PC as our primary platform so we can make Dauntless the best game it can be. Once we nail down the PC experience, then we will consider expanding to Steam or consoles, so be sure to stay tuned!

Also, thanks for sharing these observations with us concerning idle players!
I will gladly forward your input to the development team.

If you haven't done so already, I also recommend posting your observations on the community forums, which can be accessed by logging in on www.playdauntless.com and navigating to https://forums.playdauntless.com/.
You may be able to stir up a discussion with other players, which is very handy for gauging everyone's thoughts and opinions on the game. It's also easier for us to see a bunch of player feedback all in one place!

Please let us know if you have any more questions in the future.

All the best,
Phoenix Labs

pretty much their decision as i'd have told em the money epic is offering would pale in comparison if you think your game is good enough on its own.

@garuda: we can only hope they expand to steam, its not like they lose profits (unless steam wallet sales also count towards that.) and in the end, its just market expansion at that point.

i'll be holding off on linking my account to anything and watching this, but its a huge disappointment that epic was their first choice.

Dude what is even the purpose or meaning of being a "founder" then in the first place. What a huge insult to all people who choosed to support this game as founder imo. They could have just called it supporter but founder means for me something different. You guys literally build the foundation with them and they dont let you engage into participating into huge decisions even a bit. Wow thats really sad. *Insert sad ost right here*

indeed. but epic is making people both big and small do all kinds of crazy things way too soon.

i mean if epic came out with a games platform, that functioned near identicle to steam, didnt have random issue after random issue with basic store front functionality being missing or interpereted as potential sales fraud by credit card companies, then yeah i'd probably not even care.

the fact the platform is so badly designed, and devs are flocking to it for the only fact they take 18% less of the profit than steam, shows epic knows how to profit off desperation of other developers.
Lmao people actually thought this garbage would be the "MH killer".

lol there were, for me, it was just something to break away from MH once in awhile. world you get burnt out on deco farming and streamstone farming, and beating your head against KT and any other AT monster. and gen ultimate its slamming your head against G rank trying to get all the materials you need for armor sets and getting talismans you need. so its not much different.

It wasn't on Steam in the first place, was it?
I couldn't care less for a game that wasn't on Steam in the first place.

before they wanted to avoid being in steam early access system since the game was a beta up till now, which i can respect as steams EA system gets a bad rep. and it wouldnt be the first MMO to purely run off its own launcher which is what the majoirty of us were expecting it to do for the longest time, with the possibility upon completion coming to steam as a free to play MMO with a micro transaction store, also wouldnt be the first time its happened in awhile.

but no, it took a complete communist turn and went to chinas big boys first.
Macho Chunko 21. mai 2019 kl. 12.20
I was thinking about getting a founder's pack before but changed my mind after seeing what they had going in those packs, then i waited for the open beta and i'm glad i didn't buy into that.
Played the game for 2 days then never touched it again, it just didn't had any impact whatsoever
in how any weapon felt, no good sound effects, swinging a sword felt like mehhh, and basic as ♥♥♥♥ combos.
Not to mention how lackluster crafting felt, graphically didn't expect much from it but the animations and models were ugly looking, cartoonish graphics doesn't mean you should put no effort into making the game look good.
The fact that the game was free to play was a red flag cause you know they would be selling cosmetics and probably made the best looking gear purchasable in the store, no idea what they went with now cause i haven't checked back on the game, but since they sold to Epic i guess they made some money to keep the game updated for a while but problably still gonna sell cosmetics.
The game was already considered just a MH wannabe before MHW even come out, and now when MHW is available why would you want a subpar product?
"But heyyy it's free" Doesn't really work when most people don't want anything to do with the Epic Store. The playerbase they could've had is turned off by the Epic store, another part of those potential players got the MH they wanted and they won't bother with Dauntless anymore.
The game tried to bank on players that had a MH void to fill, now that is filled so why should they bother?
And maybe they lose even some of the founders support? Game is dead on arrival.

Capcom don't even bother. Better place here. Nice decision.
