Is Jagras Hacker III the best greatsword?
I just watched a ranking video about greatswords, which is 1 year old, so I wanted to double check if it is still the best, idk if this game nerfs / buffs weapons / armor, new to the game.
Thanks in advance.

Early on, yes.

It was the best raw greatsword before the rocket greatsword was added. Rocket greatsword beats it by quite a bit.

not anymore, but its top 3 or 4 depending who you ask.

1) wyvern ignition 'impact'
2) anguish (jho sword)
3,4,5) jagras hacker III, nerg gs, vaal gs

and this game doesn't cater to the people coming from league of legends asking for buffs or nerfs, which is nice.

Wyvern Ignition "Impact" from the event "Every Hunter's Dream" is the undisputed best greatsword.

For greatsword, due to high motion values, only raw damage matters.

With Non-Elemental Boost from the Elementless Jewel (+10% raw damage), there are no other greatswords worth using.

Depends what you're looking for. Jagras Hacker III is better on the slots and augmentation department, but the Wyvern Ignition is slightly better for raw. For Greatswords, disregard elemental damage and focus wholly on the highest raw you can build into, etc...which usually makes the Wyvern Ignition the best in its class, for now at least - Iceborne will probably knock it off its perch.

It also looks nicer too, in the aesthetic department. Jagras Hacker looks like a demented axe with pieces of Jagras nailed to it, plus the Wyvern Ignition has the whole ignition effect going for it, and sometimes you can see it leaving scorch marks on the ground when you use it. Neatness.

It also has natural white sharpness, which while only a tiny sliver, lasts a fair while since Greatswords don't hit as often as other weapons, plus its potential can easily be boosted through the use of other skills (Handicraft, Razor Sharp, Protective Polish etc)

You should have both of these swords in your arsenal if you are a serious Greatsword user however - sometimes you might have to lose a small chunk of raw attack in favour of the bigger decoration slots, etc.

Ignition is such a damn cool GS. I'm not even a serious GS user and I find myself in love with it. It's the one GS that made me wanna practice using the weapon more.

If you're using a Crit Draw build you can get quite a bit of mileage off the Wyvern Ignotions White sharpness. Kinda hard to make a nice looking suit that actually goes well with it seeing as how it's so outlandishly sci-fi.

Really? I'm actually sick of it since everyone uses it (can't blame them). Really hope Iceborne offers cooler ones (pun intended)

There is an unusual build involving the Kulve "Sleep" GS. Kinda niche, but being able to put a monster to sleep for such a huge wake-up weapon like GS isn't bad really. If Iceborn offers any armor with a unique skill that lowers Raw and buffs Elemental/Status depending on the weapon being used I can imagine some of the other GS getting some love. Kinda like the opposite of "Elementless", but takes into account different weapons rather than a flat % change so that normally raw weapons like GS might benefit more for having the element/status weapon rather than going for pure raw damage.
