I never really used flash bombs before or whatever they're called here, I was always terrible with them.
Does poison still work on him, or was that changed to dragon?
It has been some time since I've played, but I think poison still works. Don't worry too much about it, and just go with the flow. Just take plenty of flash pods and flash bugs to craft and you'll be A-Okay. Happy hunting.
Also, once you get the rocksteady mantle Kushala becomes more of a joke. Preferably you'd want to kill him straight up with a thunder bow, as that is for the most part the easiest way.
dragon seal will slow down the build up of his wind like it does with the other elder's aura but it doesnt prevent it so if things go wrong he could stay stuck in max aura so thats fun. poison doesnt really do anything from my experience.
flashing him out of the air or knocking him down by hitting his head will stop it. dragon pods should lower it a level if you manage to hit him with a few of them (the aura protects him at higher levels so it can be difficult)
That sucks...bleh, well we'll see what happens then, I guess.
Long 4 Gunlance (Zorah for example) wrecks Kushala like it's made of paper.
EDIT: Avoid his charged wind attack.
Make 3 pieces of his own set when you're done with him, the set bonus negates all the wind armor and tornado nonsense. The worst part about the fight really is the final phase when he flies off to his nest, since he spams tornados everywhere up there and the fight becomes awful. Preferably you'd finish the fool off before it gets to that.
